Any suggestions? Need light weight and snug ones.

Been wearing IC berlin for the past 8 years, need a change. In the middle tried Silhouette and didn't quite like. Also had Oakley which was soso.

hmmm different people have different preferences so i really don't know how to start recommending cos i dont know what you like.

i have a few japanese frame brands in mind which i think is very comfortable and light but you might not like the design.

Silhouette recently have some newer models which are more trendy as well (full frame)

to me, frameless is for people who want to look like they have nothing on the face. but since you are paying for the frame and lens, might as well make it a fashion accessory to spruce up abit of your image as well ;)

in short, just go to shops and see what frames you like. Best way already. At most if you don't buy, they give you a brief black face. Nothing to lose :s13:

What do you all think of tis frame plus lenses? From aliexpress..

@ your own risk.

what kind of lens? prescription wise how they going to check for you?
if frame low quality, easy break? need adjustments?

some things can get online... spectacles you gna wear - eyes/clarity/comfort all comes into play. is the money saved buying online more important than the above 3? If so, then go ahead ... very good deal

I agree with what gardens3b said. My main concern is the quality. If it’s weak and when fitting the lenses the frame snaps or even during adjustment. It is going to be a hassle. Totally at your own risk...

Ok. But the frame looks nice, will those optical shop have this kind of frame not ah?

Hi,

May someone enlighten me that says "wide view progressive lens" (eg from Hoya) is independent from the shape of the frame? I have a spare frame in round shape which I got from online. I intend to make a new pair of progressive lens. I am worried that the shape of the frame makes a difference in viewing. I am wearing a rectangular shape progressive lens. Thanks.

Hi Bro,

Lens design is already fixed, so irregardless of what frame shape you use, the view will be the same. But you'll feel slightly less distortion when you switch from a rectangular frame to circular frame

My only concern is whether the online frame can last. Progressive lenses are pretty pricey, so we'll usually advise our customers to get frames that has warranty or of a better quality. (If the frame breaks, you are assure of an exact replacement by the agent) At least your lenses dont go to waste. :)

Hey,

Regarding the wide view lenses that you are concerned about, firstly, i feel the size of the frame is the true concern followed by the shape of the frame which would affect your viewing area. As what user EyeZone mention, progressive lens design are rather fixed, That means before the lens is CUT/EDGE onto your frame, the viewing area is more or less fixed. Thus The amount of Distortion is already predetermined from the lens you are going to purchase, so if you choose a frame that is wide/long, you will experience more distortion as compared to one that is shorter/narrower. Also Depending on your addition power/Lao hua power, The higher your power, the more distortion you will experience. Thus its advisable to choose a frame that is comfortable for you e.g. not too wide unless your face shape forbids it.

- Clear during indoors
b) High index 1.67 plastic
c) Single vision
d) blue light filter / PC lens
e) anti-reflective/ glare
f) impact resistant

Hi Bro, most big brands offer lenses with blue block features. These lenses are good to block HEV light up to 30%.

I'ld suggest you to ask around for Asahi 1.74 Photochromic SV lenses instead.

It filters up to 94% HEV and turns dark when in contact with sun's UV light

a) Photochromic ✔️
- Quick fade back
- Clear during indoors
b) High index 1.67 plastic ✔️(1.74 index)
c) Single vision ✔️
d) blue light filter / PC lens ✔️(94% filter)
e) anti-reflective/ glare✔️
f) impact resistant
