Hi all! I'm looking to make a cheap pair of prescription sunglasses for travelling as I don't like to wear contact lenses. How much would a cheap frame + polarised lens cost? Owndays quoted me $276. Not sure if that is the cheapest already. Also, how much would a mirror coating cost? My degree is 400 left eye and 600 right eye. TIA!

Hi bro,

Another way is to use clip-ons glasses

Hi Guys,
Is it a must to make progressive lens above aged 40?
I'm turning 41, looking for recommendations on lenses and optical shops.
my degree is around 4.75 and will be using my frame.
Lens wise not too expensive.....
TIA

Progressive lenses is optional. Would be recommended if you start having difficulties viewing at near. If near is still quite ok, then its not a "must" but a "good-to-have".

And roughly how much is normal and progressive price for my degree.
Don’t need frame.

Depending on the size, your frame may not be suitable for progressive lens. U need to check with your optician.

Price looks good.

If you require Blue Absorb as well, can consider Asahi Lite UV3G Sunfilter/ Kodak Evoblue
Turns dark under the sun and filters out 94% HEV light too.

Does typical spectacles shop sell prescribed swimming goggles with degrees?

Yes, some do. However it does not come with astig correction and if the power of both eyes are different, you might need to purchase 2 to swap the lenses to balance out the power.

However usually when swimming you dont need full sharpness clarity thus you usually need something lower. e.g. -2.00 just take a -1.50 goggles will do the job well.

My Varilux Physio 3 progressive is super discomfort. Desk bound is merely acceptable but outdoor is terrible especially night vision is blurry.
What other options could I get for good outdoor and night vision with progressive lenses?

Hi bro, what's your degree like?

Look out for 4k Varios Premium Transition Nano Blue by Mvision.
Performance is similar to Zeiss ID 2 but much more affordable. If degree is not too high, a 1.50 index version with transition would be within your budget.
