Made in shanghai and made in japan got px difference or not??? If china made cheaper by half i dont mind, but same px then no-no ler. But i think nowadays tings are inferior lehz, best safest optio is to choose the more expensive option. I recently bought a HDMI cable for $30 got spoilt in less than a week. So v hard to find good yet cheap stuff, dont u all agree mah??!
This is quite hard to answer....
Because there's a lens called Trinity. Supposedly the most advanced progressive launched by Hoya
Then when yingluck first took over.... Thailand had a big flood
I was flying over Thailand back then and that's the first time I've seen a real flood (and from the air as well )
Then Eh.... They couldn't deliver on the orders for Trinity lenses because the factory at Thailand was flooded.
They were supposed to have a super 24 hour lab/factory at Malaysia... Which surprisingly doesn't produce Trinity lenses
That caused a bit of a backlash..... Because from supplier to salesman to shop to staff to customers..... The story was... "made in Japan " ..... Then when crisis struck... Story changed to "finished in Japan "
A lot of angry people felt cheated
I don't know much more other than that
But unless it made sense. It's rare to manufacture things in Europe / first world countries due to the cost
Like say Duravision coating. The last time I ordered the lenses they must be made in Germany. Because only German have the facilities.
But there's no way they would continue manufacturing in Germany if there's demand here enough to fuel a new manufacturing plant here
They along with all other labs like Hoya, Essilor Have manufacturing plants all over Asia. I know Malaysia has lab/ factory for Hoya
And the big labs are all in Thailand
China's a definite thing. Australia India
The future is going to get everything moved to Asia
