Morning!

likely you have already unless you are between -1 to -2 diopter and you can take out specs to read better.
If you realised you need to bring objects further from you to read…. Congrats!!!! (Jk)
You have presbyopia/laohua.
Onset is usually from 38 year old onwards..

Hi, here’s my prescription.

Spectacle prescription: R-2.50 -2.25 180, L -2.00 -3.50 180;
Oh, then you surely need the RX(customised lenses) due to your high astig…

well within a budget of 200(limited) I suggest maybe Pentax blue 1.55 index…
There are also cheaper lens brand e.g. OSS,Mvision etc. It depends on which practice you go to and which brand they carry.

Do you have any recommendations for shops with the pentax lens?

Holy cowabunga.. but when i made my specs a few years back, they didn't mention i have laohua leh...

Are those practitioners at the spectacle shops able to diagnose someone with laohua?

For beginners like me, which brand(s) of progressive would you recommend? Prefers good scope of vision and easy to adapt to for newbies like me. I sit in front of the computer screen for very very long hours.

Thanks so much!

Oh, they might not be wrong as there are individuals that can manage with their presbyopia(early onset) for Afew years.(maybe similar to you).
Honestly Brand’s like Essilor, Hoya , Zeiss are great Brand’s to start off with.
Essilor-comfort 3.0,Physio 3.0
Hoya lifestyle balansis,lifestyle 3
Zeiss precision pure, precision plus…
These are good lenses to start with..

@GANGSTERKIA Towkay, two questions.

1. Essilor vs Kodak, is this simply an illusion of choice with the former owning the latter?

2. Essilor Varilux Comfort Max or Kodak Easy?

Hey there!
Me not towkay, kar kia only.
1)can go somewhere along the line, “sisters”. Got Essilor user here, ask them more convenient hahah
2) comfort max hands down. The price actually is a giveaway which is a better lens. HOWEVER, it’s very subjective. I seen individuals preferring very basic lenses even from owndays as compared to the mainstream Brand’s… but I choose to be on safer side and recommend the ones I know usually shouldn’t go wrong. So… comfort max, but if got budget, I prefer to go straight to the X-series. I would recommend X-design.

Hi,
Regarding Progressive lense, anyone have feedback on Nikon SeeMax Master?

because i think its price above Hoya Myself ID and Zeiss Individual.

Thinking of getting it? Don’t know its hard or soft lense. So, any feedback? Worth the price?

Hi gangsterkia

I'm looking for new spectacles. Initially looked at titanium, but I sometimes wear safety goggles over my specs and will be sweaty, so I think plastic might be more durable.

My job and lifestyle spend most of my time looking at phone or computer screens and I'm Mid - late 20s. My head quite broad also, when take out my specs, can see an indentation created by the spec haha

-3.75/-1.75 cyl
-3/-2.25 cyl

Do you have any recommendations? My current spec from new China served me quite well but since I'm working, I wanna spend a bit more to treat my eyes better. Max budget 200, not very high also haha.

Hey! With a budget of 200, did New China charge you a similar price for their frame and lenses too? If they did then I would suggest going back there as it is a good price for your glasses.
You could consider owndays/lenskart.

Actually previously I only bought my frame + lens at 100. Probably the lens aren't that good.

I'm not someone who take good care of the lens. I use my shirt to wipe and always wash it with body soap during shower haha.

I'll look at owndays. Are there any budget lens for me to consider?
