Is it true that single vision Hoya lens (degree and transition) has no marking on the Hoya card to prove authentication? I been some time since I made previous specs.

They prove via their system id and using that order number in system, Hoya page also show authenticated

Any recommendations for optical shops that provide lens replacement service at a good price? Looking for those that provide Hoya Sensity 2. Thanks in advance!

Hi there

I got digital eye strain at night, which results in headache. Particularly in indoor settings, looking at PC screen and television looks really uncomfortable.
So when i am looking at PC and smartphone at night it looks really uncomfortable. I was recommended by an optometrist to use a color changing lens by crizal and add a 50 degree presyobia for the prescription, although i am 36 year old but without any degree. So when i have tinted glasses like fl-41 it looks more comfortable. Is it better to go to the extent of buying crizal lens which cost like $300 SGD or just a cheap fl-41 glass will do?

Thinking of trying out progressive lens to see if I can get used to.

any recommendation? No need high end lens or frame.

Will either Ownsday or Lenskart be suitable? Hopefully all-in can be less than $400 to try. If even cheaper, all the better.

Owndays currently having promo for progressive lens valid till April 14th.
https://www.owndays.com/sg/en/news/enhanced-lens-offer

I read through the TnC and my understanding is that by purchasing any Owndays spectacles(aka the frame), you get to enjoy free upgrade to their basic progressive lens(U.P. $100). However, this promo is only for folks who have not purchased any Owndays progressive lens package before and subject to suitability to wear progressive glasses(probably the staff will advise you accordingly after eye test).

Also take note their basic progressive lens package is only up to 1.67 index and the processing time is at least 2 weeks so don't go thinking you will be able to receive your new glasses on the same day.

Those who went owndays or lenkart, go at your own risk. I knew of ppl who went to such, including me, had a misaligned degree/astig
A couple of years ago, I experimented with progressive lenses from Zoff. In my assessment, they did not suit me due to the narrow width of the in-house lens at the bottom, resulting in the perception that my mobile phone display was tapering downwards in that area. This observation is based solely on my personal experience. I have moved on to Hoya progressive lens and never look back thereafter.

Hi experts, planning to get a new set of glasses. Was offered Zeiss and Nikon lenses. Any difference between the two? Saw same online discussions people mentioning Zeiss has more newer technology?

For Zeiss am considering: Smartlife SV, Digital lens
Nikon: Relaxsee, Seecoat drive

I do use computer and mobile phone often, as also drive often.

Or are there models that you would recommend more? TIA! :)

Does anybody know if there are any stockist carrying Reykjavik Eyes frames in Singapore?
I must say it had been a pain locating a retail outlet that carries this brand.

Found and called the local distributor to ask which shops carry this. The person told told me: "the person in charge is not around, try any optical shops in Orchard."

I guess they no longer carry this.

Fine. i Googled, and called a few shops that have previous posts stating they carry this. All of them told me: "We no longer carry this."

Finally, i found this shop in Coronation Shopping Plaza in Bukit Timah:

Called them and they said they do carry it, but only very limited stocks, and you will not be able to order any particular model which they do not have.
Cosy little shop, with friendly staff that are not pushy. I suggest you make an appointment instead of walking in. Sometimes they may get busy and you have to wait. A rather ulu mall, not as if you can do much shopping there :ROFLMAO:
