Does anyone know if New China Optician lens is aspherical lens like owndays?

And nowadays i realised opticians do not test until eye sight is very sharp. They jus test until good enough to see and they jus stop there. Den when see bus from far, cannot really make up the numbers. Need wait for it to come closer.

Dont know if there are any good opticians like in the past :(

hi friends. Recently gotten new specs with prevencia lenses. When tilting my head slightly, i am able to see some purple/blue tint. Wonder is this tint reflecting into my eyes or it's just normal. Thanks..

The blue light from your back is being reflected off your specs into your eyes. I'm not sure if prevencia has an ar coating on the back surface to reduce that. those blue blocking lens with slight yellowish tint will not have this problem

Is it because you have aged so your eyesight is no longer as sharp which an eyeglass may not correct?

Anyone can advise me prevencia, Alize or forte 1.67 cost how much for lense only?
I'm at Thailand now, thinking of making it here if significantly cheaper than sg.

L -5.5 astig 1.75
R - 6.75 astig 1.25

For this RX do I really need 1.67,or will 1.60 do fine? The price difference quite a lot.

My Owndays specs used one year badly scratched up. Even the Thai optician say it's low quality lenses.

Thanks guys

Whether or not you want 1.67 depends on how thin you want the specs to be, since your right eye is -6.75, can consider but not a must, see if they have any sample for similar dioptre lens to show you their thickness

Here is a diagram for thickness reference:
eyesight.sg/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Lens-thickness-comparison.jpg

It's a matter of aesthetic preference. Higher index lens, while less bulky, usually have lower abbe values and are lower in optical quality

Guys, I want to get PC glasses. No degree required. Any recommendations? I just want to use it at work. I'm very mildly shortsighted with astigmatism, I don't wear glasses usually so I don't bother to get with degree just to look at the computer.

Standard thing with all blue lenses. Personally have used from Tokai and Hoya, all the same.

I went to malaysia penang for holidays last week and also make lens for my new frame. I using crizal transition forte 1.6 for the new frame which cost me around S$200++.

Just recieved my pair of Crizal prevencia. Spent 6000baht (~238sgd) for 1.67(refer to my above post) without frame.

Day one of usage I'm freaking impressed. So much better than my scratched up rubbish Owndays lense + pc coat. See things really clearly and my eyes are much less tired.

Owndays lense are really of lousy quality. It gets scratched up super easily. I made a pair of sunglasses lense on 5oct from owndays, and took really good care of it (spectacle case, wipe with only the provided soft cloth) and I noticed theres already 2 long fine scratch already.

P. S. thanks for the reply and advice guys.

What's your age? There are two types of pc glasses. One is those blue blocking glasses, which comes in a yellow tint or with slight blue reflections like prevencia. The second type is for near middle aged people who normally wear progressives but use special pc glasses that is optimised for the eye to pc distance when using pc.

Recently I made a pair of specs with zeiss lens digital + photofusion + dura vision. However I noticed the one corner the edges the lens had different index. According to the optician, it is a form of defect.

Is it the more feature you include in the lens there could be higher rate of defect occurrence.

Isn't index a property of the material, like 1.6, 1.74 etc? Are you referring to different lens power?

imagine u looking at an object with horizontal and fine spacing between the lines. at the defect spot the line will be chopped off or bended off. it seems the plastic is not bend correctly or uneven thickness. that is why I used the word index is to describe the bending of the light, in another words is lens power.

I don't think it's the case where the more features ordered, the more chances of defects in the lens power since the defect that you mentioned is likely to be due to surfacing errors. The other features you ordered, transitions, a lens photochromic property, duravision, a lens coating, hardly affects the surfacing at all.

The coating is applied after the surfacing.

I went to JB focus point and i choose a Jaguar Fame + Hoya lens, quote RM 1470. Very expensive sia.. if buy in sg normally cost how much?

I not sure what are the terms for the lens, want UV, protect eyes from computer and phone and less glaring when driving at night.

I think the index is 1.60.

Does that mean prevencia more harmful to eyes than normal lens?, when the lights behind you is reflected to your eyes.
