Its not a bad brand. A collaboration between france/china product.

Hi everyone, wondering anyone here could help me on this. By any chance or luck, do any optical shop have the tools to extract out a stripped or stuck screw? So that I can walk in to get it done and purchase new screws for my spectacles.

It can be done but likely your frame screw track will be totally worned out fully cause of the force needed to push the screw out and friction.

alot of technical terms which would be hard to explain here.

in short, pay for what you are comfortable with.
e.g some people find wearing non branded shoes alright rather than paying for nike brand which can cost up to 2-3x more.

then again, you cant compare a non branded shoe with nike because the price you pay is already different if we were to go into technicalities for e.g the lens coating durability, the ease of use with the lens, design of the lens etc.

same for frame prices. some people willing to shell out 1000+ for a pair of frame. while some just want a cheap pair which cost 100.... again, we can go into many technicalities between the 2...
both serve the same purpose. so it is really up to you to decide what product you want.

If you wear the specs every day, including exercise in my experience copper and stainless steel frames will rust. Copper will have green residue and stainless steel will have specks of rust

Plastic frames with the plastic nose bridge will slip from your face easily, exp if your lenses are heavy

If your prescription is high, the lenses can cost more than the frame. If the frame breaks you may have to replace the lenses too...

It’s not that hard to see the difference really, just go to the optician and try on afew frames. Expensive may not mean good either.

brand loyalty and depending on which one the practitioner is more comfortable to fit. honestly speaking, they are all about the same.
Personally, i use Nikon. quality wise also all about the same as the price range is similar

Agreed.. zeiss and Nikon single vision free form lenses currently are one of those that has the best clarity and quality(multicoat).

Hi, have been wearing prescription glasses to deal with myopia for a number of years.

Recently started having blur vision when seeing near such as mobile phone but no issue without glasses.

Is this presbyopia?

If you are within the age of 35-40 then yes could be early presbyopia setting in.
Try pulling your phone further away and if it gets clearer then yes it is.

targetting mainly the japanese in singapore would be a downfall...

service wise, i would say it totally depends on the one serving you.

take for example if you go to a clothing store, bound to have many different types/personalities of salesperson. some keep quiet wait for you to decide, some will make recommendations based on what they think is suitable for you.
Both personalities arent good or bad... it just depends on which type of service you prefer. hope this helps

Prices i think almost everyone will follow the market rate (discount dependent on sales person and as to whether they like you and give you mor ediscount )as listed on the catalogue unless they offer you some other lenses which are not from the top 3 companies.

Firstly, it depends on how high is your myopia and astig.

The moment it is high, you have to look at high index lenses which will cost more e.g. 1.6/1.67/1.74 index.

Next If you are also looking for better quality progressive lenses e.g. Essilor Physio/X-Series, Hoya ID series, Zeiss superb/Individual 2 or more, these lenses will cost minimally 550+++ and if it is high index then the cost will be about 200-300 more. Thus the lenses will be about 800+ ball park figure..

Better quality in terms of clarity and Lesser peripheral distortion.

Depending on your needs, you can also choose to top up & have Add-ons like:

• Higher index for even thinner lenses
• Wider Angle lenses
• Colour changing lenses (E.g. Transitions, Photochromic)
• HEV Light (Blue) Filter (E.g. Asahi-Lite UV3G, Tokai Lutina)
