My owndays i use at hm.

Got a new spec with zeiss lens n the porsche design frame. Honestly i feel having a expensive frame it makes me more careful in taking care of it instead of throwing it around.
And the lens sharpness difference is really big imo.

I used branded frames like Lindberg and Eyevan but unfortunately I’m only careful with them when I first add them into rotation How much did the Zeiss lens cost you, if you don’t mind sharing?

I made the drivesafe version at 1.67 without the tinting function. 330. But 1 thing about it is things became yellowish.

My current frame is causing dent on my face, either is too tight or the side frame is too thin, thus the higher pressure on my face. Is Oakley ($150-200) frame any good?

Lens wise, I happen to pass by and enquired in 2 stores in Malaysia - Dr Specs & also Woosh eyewear. Was told the below; progressive ( 500&100)+ bluecoat,+ normal transition cost about RM1050. Will I be able to get a similar cost in Singapore?

Meaning indentation on the side of your face? If it is then Oakley frames would probably not be recommended as they are Caucasian fit (The frame temples are straight). Will worsen the dent/ cause more discomfort & will be a loose fit. Look for frames with a curved temple, This will reduce pressure on the side of the face.

By Normal transition, I suppose they mean Photochromic (Colour-changing lenses) without using the brand
Transitions®. Bluecoat (Blue Reflect) is for reducing light intensity & not really filtering out harmful HEV (Blue) light.

Blue Reflect lenses block up to 30% across whole blue spectrum (~400-500nm) & are generally much yellowish.


Blue Absorb lenses block up to 94% of the high energy (HEV) waves(up to 420nm), while letting the rest of beneficial blue light in.(~420-500nm). These lenses have an almost not noticeable yellow tint.


Based on what your prescription
A pair of 1.56 Basic progressive photochromic Blue Coat lens would be around $280 to $580 in Singapore (Depending on brand)

checked Owndays price.. not as high as I had thought. seems like quite competitive, the pricing I saw in Malaysia and the ones sold in Singapore.

Hi Optometrist,

is there any issue with this reading below?
my cylinder reading for both left and right is 0.00 .
Axis degree for left is 90 and right is 0. Googled, it says that if cylinder reading is zero, axis should be zero too. Not sure why my axis degree indicated 90 for the left.

If Cyl is 0, then the orientation doesn't matter.

They typed 90 instead of 0 probably due to typo ba

Does the 90 axis cause eye’s strain or uncomfortable since my cylinder reading is zero? Actually what is a axis? I only know cyl is 散光.

when i remove my specs, i do feel my vision abit blur for a few mins and abit of discomfort

axis is the angle where you need the astigmatism

Hi, I’m looking for recommendations for good lightweight glasses that can fit my daily needs.


I have a very sensitive issue when wearing glasses. I can’t seem to wear those with pads as they cause bruises on my nose bridge regardless of the brand of pads used. However non padded ones slide off my nose all the time and cause ear pain. I have not tried high end brands like Lindberg before, though I’ve read a number of issues with this brand, a lot of feedback says that the glasses requires constant adjustment as the shape always change. i probably need Asian fit glasses.

I’ve consolidated some brands that I can find in sg, feel free to suggest more if you have had good experience with it:

1) Masunaga
I like the designs but not sure how light or good it is in terms of comfort.

2) Ic-Berlin/Mykita
The designs seem to be more plain, haven’t seen in real life so I’m not sure. Quality looks good.

Brands I would like to try out but not sure which shop sells, any help would be appreciated:

1) Flair
2) Reykjavikais

+5.00Ds is hyperopia. Or do you mean -5.00Ds Myopia?
