Hi guys just wanna check can i bring frames i bought elsewhere without degree to a shop and ask them to customize degree lens to replace the original lens? I want to keep the frame.. do shops provide such service?

I changed my lenses and kept the frame recently. Not a prob at most shops, I think.

Just made a pair of Oliver Peoples with Carl Zeiss 1.5 Photofusion & Duravision. Paid $760. Frame cost $480 and lenses cost $280. Degree is 150. Is it a reasonable price? And should I have gotten 1.6 instead?

I believe calligraphy lenses belong to a cheaper range under singapore local brand. Just like how essilor is cheaper than zeiss or nikon

beginning to like my crizal lens more n more...its very clear, and does not easily get dust specs on it compared to hoya.

Calligraphy lenses are made by ILT. Indeed they belong to the more budget range, which is why you don't see all the big advertisements about it.

ILT was absorbed by a company registered as Kaleido Vision on 18 March 2010, and Kaleido Vision is wholly owned by Essilor.

The cost of lenses are the same whether they have prescription or not, but you can try your luck by asking them. I don't get the point of PC lenses though - what is it supposed to protect against? Reminds me of the protector screens we placed over CRT monitors in the past.

MY ONE AND ONLY LOVE - ZEISS LENS. DURAVISION COATING BLUE RESIDUAL REFLECTION. DAMN SWEE. LESS GLARE THAN HOYA AND CLEARER VISION.

AHBOY U ARE HIGHER CLASS, CAN WELL AFFORD ZEISS. JUST GO FOR IT.

I believe pc lenses are targeted solely for heavy computer usage for comfort. It definitely affects quality of lighting. Not all can accept it. Definitely not me as well since I dont need it
