Well, Singapore has MIMS. But if they are still in the LD era then maybe they wouldn't be checking out the online sites very much - when such a site pops up it could be just another person who wants to exercise his free right of speech. Like how there are quite a few anti-LASIK sites around.

If you can take your own sweet time to complete a task with eyes half closed, no need for the multicoating. If you have to stare at the computer and documents all day then of course. Typical office worker life in Singapore. And ironically, people want UV coating on lenses in Singapore yet don't put on sunscreen. :s22:

No Sim Lim Square in ang moh land, but not an issue getting the latest phone models, just more expensive. Or maybe we are talking about different countries to begin with.

When people go online to get their stuff, it can be for many reasons, not just the opticians having issues. If I can buy contact lenses online in Singapore, that means the shops in Singapore are having issues?

As work-life balance is a big issue in much of the ang moh land, some practices close at 4pm and do not open over the weekends. Thus, some consumers choose to order online for convenience.

U sure Old is Not Gold? Old comes with valuable experience that monies cant buy and cut short our painful journey.

Kleenex tissues eh sai boh? Best i can find liao. Ultrasoft special 100% virgin fibers. Ultimate in cottony softness and vrlvety smoothness.

Yea thats what pioneer said, keep reusing the cloth will trap dirt particles which you cant see. Then use how many times throw the microfiber cloth? So wasteful!!!!

bro i didnt say all. hahaha. i'm not doubting their experience, just that there are other ppl working under these pioneers and learnt from them. you don't expect them to live forever to service you right? they go early, you not gonna change specs anymore?? hahaha!!
kidding bro

Why can't you just buy a starck frame then go back to your pioneers to make lenses?

Saves you a lot of trouble assuming it works out well

Haha bro this gotta be ur stubbornness. Ure not open to changes. Qc is definitely still there. No point saying further. I wish u luck with finding the right shop who is able to satisfy ur needs for spectacles. I wish your future optician the best of luck as well.
I still believe everyonw has their own standards like our pioneers. Everypne starts out learning then becoming pioneer maybe 30years down the road. Please do not look down on our people. Show them some support and be open to changes. No one likes to serve a stubborn man, even with the best customer service, the server is still human. Main thing, if you're unhappy with the end product, they will 100% change for you, im sure. Change until you are happy. So please stop going home with something you're unhappy then u say they are not good. Sometimes they just dont know until you tell them.

Any discomfort please let your server know asap and they will help you. Or if you bring home few days not happy with your vision please go bsck and ask for help. all your post has been about the low quality service and spectacles provided. If you dont trust anyone, please go overseas to get your favourite pair of specs

We're all here to get advise on spectacles, and help one another. Ranting makes everyone confused. There are so many spectacle users and they are happy with their pair. There are people out there with higher degree and astigmatism than you here. So please.

Pioneers likely not doing, pass on to the children who made the wrong material. I wanted plastic but instead ordered mineral glass instead. End up pioneer tried to cover up for their mistake and said it was me who wanted glass! It was pure mistake on their part but pioneer deny saying it was written on the prescription card. Ok i didnt want to continue argue and left but never return to that shopn case closed abt pioneer. Im only saying what he said abt the microfiber cloth trapping more dirt particles would scratch lenses is likely to be right. But once they retire & pass on to younger generation they dont meddle much more.

The microfibre trapping dirt is definitely true. No one denies that fact. But the reason we do not use tissue paper is becasue of pulp fibres also. That is why we dont keep reusing the microfibre. We shd change it noften and regularly

They probably know, but not willing to change when lenses are made wrongly or not up to standard. If they do not know, its solely becos they dont bother abt QC. Simple as that. Case closed. I have met many of such optical people before for me to say such a strong statement. Believe or not up to u. Not happy can go fly kite. I will also fly my own kite. Not going to spend so much heartbreak monies.

..... I think you should go to one of those shops opened to sell high end stuff.. Boutiques and such
They charged more or RRP
And everything is very standard. Quite corporate so you can change until happy

There's one by capitols owners in great world city. Clinic style . Most of the staff there operate like clock work
Tiagong in-charge treat them with extreme.... Systematic treatment.. Less human error lol :s13: last time got a few pieces of starck. Not sure about these days

That do wrong no excuses one can change until correct

Hi to all the experts here.

If I were to opt for iScription on my Zeiss lens, does the shop specifically need to use the iProfiler machine provided by Zeiss or will any eye checking machine will do? Cos I went to Zeiss website and read about how iScription works together with the iProfiler machine.

Thanks a lot bros

I have always assumed the machine goes hand in hand with iscription

You can still do the lenses without. But it is like downgrading from individual to asiana.. But still paying individual prices
It's supposed to be customised. Without your data they can still do the lenses but they'll use their own data. Based on their own records and give you an average best I guess?

Think of it as going to a tailor. Instead of measuring and doing your clothes the tailor follows what he did before for another customer who is very similar. It might fit well. .. Not saying it won't but you take a leap of faith.
If all your customers are from the same area you wouldn't face any issues because everyone comes with roughly the same height and shape

But if you're the anomaly you won't find it as comfortable

I see cos later going to prescribe a pair so I know that if they never use the iProfiler machine and they say is the same I know that they are not doing it for my best interest

Hahah seannie bro, there are mistakes that optician will miss sometimes. Such as axis. When theybtest off by 1 or 2. It also relies on our response to getbthe best measurement. U gotta gibe them a benefit of doubt. Id the shops dont allow a change then dont go back alright!! Optical shops should be providing us with their best service, if not they can forget about us or anybody going back

Do not assume that they prpbably know. Just ask bro. If u really dont see weell or comfortable they have to do something no mateer they are right of wrong. Still gotta stand by my benefit of doubt. U dont expect them to test 100% axis on +/- 1. Customer response plays the biggest part. If u do not trust, I suggest u request for iprofiler measurements and to follow it. Computerised. Zeiss ftw
