i noticed that the two zeiss marking on my new progressive lens are not parallel. the markings on the left lens is parallel, but the right lens is not. is this a misalignment problem or it ok and just branding stuff. this is my first progressive lens, so i don't know what is normal. i have that floating sense when looking down (reading) and moving my head left to right. but when looking straight or up, don't have this issue.

maybe u try a while first then get used to it lo. try try first ah, when really cannot make it then go back troubleshoot haha

Came across this shop owndays shop and their frame seem light wear and durable. Is it worth getting it from there ?

Each side abt 300 and 150astig each as well. Using it for com facing and reading. Long hours.

Is $300 feasible or I can up the budget.

actually taobao frames is not bad... the pic i shown above is i buy from taobao which cost me only less then $15sgd... is TR90 material. 9 gram only but too bad my lens thick... so added some weight but still very light!

yeah they have cool frames over there just that their lens are basic ones.
im sure ur budget is well over for owndays hahhaa

your pwr owndays is like $98 inclusive of everything, if for near work can ask for antifatigue/digital lenses but that costs more

just got back my specs from Yong Ming (KSL, JB) yesterday.

my crizal prevencia lens dun have the crizal word when i blow at it... cos the staff claims that my lens is specially made due to my astig and degree (astig 225, degree 800/900+ both eyes).

although the coating a bit like purplish.

i was given a crizal certificate (not paper form but like those membership card type of material).

hopefully i didn't get a fake lens.

how much you gotten the whole set for?

If i'm not wrong, some of the Crizal lens doesn't have the little transparent engraving marking. Maybe after they edged the whole lens, the marking was edged away due to our own frame design? Moreover you see the marking not positioned at standard area too..

Some of my specs that i made with Crizal lens doesn't have it too.

Hi, recently made a new pair of spectacle with Crizal Prevencia lens.
Brought it home, and noticed that when lens placed at
an angle, can see that the coating on both lens are
uneven (with blobs and small dots).

At first thought its just oily or something.
At home, tried cleaning lens with mild cleaning agent and
microfiber cloth, still the same.
Took it back to shop, they tried cleaning, still the same.
Shop say they will send it back to Crizal for check.

Did anyone encountered such a problem ?
Crizal lens no Quality Control ?
The Crizal lens came with a small printed card,
but no serial number.
How can i tell it is real Crizal lens or just some imitation lens ?
When i use the lens, noticed that things seen through
the lens are slightly yellow, is it normal ?

i also make one... but from JB, KSL (shop Yong Ming).

looks like i got the same problem as you also... uneven coating.

is your cert same as mine here?

I have 2 different Crizal lense, earlier is Crizal Preventia,
another is Crizal transistion. Both different cert as yours.

For the Crizal Preventia's uneven coating, i took it back to optical shop, and they sent it back to Crizal to clean the lense.
According to feedback from optical shop, it is due
to some protective coating during manufacturing process.

As for the Crizal transistion, im contacting Crizal for more info.

so after cleaning... the coat looks ok now?

hmm if so maybe i will go back in to JB to clean also.

$500 you can go for zeiss digital/crizal anti fatigue will help with your laptop stuff
should be able to get as a set for that budget

huat ish clean the lens? they tell you or you say one from what they imply?

cannot clean one, if coating got problem is redo only

2nd question

Who about Auto-tinting lens ( or Transitions®)?

1.57 Photochromic + Single Vision -Purple

how is the auto tinting (does it change when there UV ray only)?

and if i get purple does it mean when there uv ray, i will see purple?


3rd question

How is len coating? does it last? or will the coat come off after 1 to 2 year?

cause i always clean using toilet paper, t shirt, etc...

Yeah photochromic only under the sun outdoors. Maybe do a 1.6 index if u like haha. If u prefer good lenses just drop by optical shops and ask for it. Online by clicking on options such as oleophobic or what outside optical shops shf havr also. Better lenses at better pricing. I still believe online is cheap but quality not there for picky customers?
