rimless for reflex or track de? if is for track de i think the price is damm cheap...

Track. :D

I'm sourcing EVERYWHERE for lobang for track series now.

The cheapest I could find so far is in JB Holiday Inn. :s27: $579 with Hoya polycarbonate lenses.

Reason because I want to make 1 myself but now reconsidering the idea as it's not professional enough in my industry.

Maybe making the half rim tag huer normal frames. Was quoted $550 at TPY central earlier. :o

I made a pair of specs at queensway today, the optician told me they use Hoya lenses. I wasnt quite convinced.. does Hoya lenses come with some sort of cert card? They quoted Essilor as $90 for the lense only..

Anyway, cant expect much since i only paid a total of $100 :)

just asking how much avg is 1.60 lenses(the thicker lense) for eye degree of around 550, 525 ?
I was quoted $180 just for the lenses. Is it expensive?

I asked around in shops like Paris **** etc in Bugis, that is about the price they quoted for just the lenses.. :) but it can be cheaper elsewhere

Nv ask abt their lenses prices. But I know they sell Hoya.

Shop at tpy central. Their shop give discount for tan tock seng hospital staff, so you look ard sure can see. The notice is pasted on their shop window so it's very obvious.

Anyway I'm quite over the TH phase. After hearing user feedback regarding the the rubber legs, I think it's not worth money already.

I'm ok with it rotting after years of use, but the fact that there's no free replacement makes it quite hard to stomach. You're after all paying for that technology.

Just back from Oakley svc centre.

Recently found my Straight Line lying in a corner in my wardrobe and decided to give it a new life :D

Bought in March'06, the rubber socks have worn off pretty badly and the temple pads are kinda yellow.

I got my pair from Capitol Optical but when I called them to enquire about replacing the socks and pads, they actually quoted me 30 bucks for replacement :s27:

Called Larrikin and they said that as long as I have a valid warranty card and proof of purchase from authorized dealers, they will be able to provide replacements FOC, for an unlimited number of times in the future.

For those who are confused with the warranty terms, I believe the 1-year warranty applies to 1-to-1 exchange of defective lenses and frames. Once the period lapses, you would not be able to replace the whole frame or lenses anymore.

Went down to SIS Building, No. 4 Leng Kee Road, just a short walk from Redhill MRT in the late afternoon to have them replaced. Fast service, got it back on the spot after 10 mins, as good as new.

Thumbs up to Larrikin!!!

Capitol Optical :s8:

Agreed with evets' comments. Tag reflex is very comfortable when worn around my face. And like evets said, as long as under warranty you will be fine. After that, the cost of just the rubber alone can buy Oakley already :s13:

Haha, yeah eyewear is very ex in Singapore. If you have worn specs for years you will understand. For me specs is part of my face and worn daily, almost all the time. Which is why I invest a lot in my eyewear collection.

now do lasik so cheap. i rather go do lasik better.

than buying a spec that cost 500-600+++ or even more.

yea I also find only the reflex tag heuer is nice, the rest not really. Although I don't have much luck with Tag, I broke my reflex, my gf lost her Zenith I gave. :(

I am wearing Staffan Preutz Infinity now, the lightest eyewear I ever had.

i got this frame simliar frame but with a thicker temple at $423 from Nanyang Optical

I make a Zeiss lense at $240 1.61 index

total damage $660

But im particularly concern at Zeiss lense because at 240 it very steep ...

have i been overcharge or?

and since this frame, not many optical shop carry it , so i tot oh well...

1.61 at $240 is waaaayyy overpriced.

But considering it's a Zeiss, it ain't so bad. Anyway you already paid, so why fret over it now?

Lesson to learn is to always find out more about prices online before committing to a deal. Be more discerning and price sensitive.

Unless of course you're rich and a few hundred dollars ain't gonna hurt your wallet at all.
