hmmm, fyi, jb city square is currently undergoing renovation, thus i suggest you may consider going sometime in the second half of the year.

The shop name is Eye Optic Vision. Currently it is temporarily shifted to a smaller shop on the 2nd or 3rd level i think, so the range is not that much to browse for the moment until at least july/august when they re-shift to a bigger store.

I will revisit the store again likely end of the year when i suspect more new frames will come in for the xmas/new year festive season. They have brands like masaki, pro design, urband, eyelet, EyeDC etc. I always like to visit them as the sales ple are friendly and i can good prices, esp when the sg dollar is stronger.:s12:

Be careful when you shop in malaysia , indonesia, thailand..where things are much cheaper...... Gucci, prada, porsche design, ray bans...... lots of fakes.

hey xiao boy, google models may not be selling in the actual shops. i tot u said capitol optical has 999.9 & japonism so you could take pics directly from your shop & post here. im a busy man travelling everyday, i dont have so much expendable time on my hands to go to so many shops in orchard road or suntec. And all of them are chain stores.

i think i rather go back to jb city square shop, which sells quality at cheap prices. There prices are really negotiable, unlike big chain stores can only giv up to 10% discount on lens after much haggling still the same 10%. In sg cheapest you can get discount for lens only 20% off the RRP.

In jb my regular shop, i can get up to 30% off HOYA premium lenses, meaning in sg selling at RRP SGD550, i am only paying equavalent to SGD375 for the same custom-made hoya 1.67 dbl AS sft lenses, and the shop even give me the authenticity card AND the lens packaging, so no worries about authenticity.

Just in case you don't know, the houses there also cheaper. Labour also cheaper. rent also cheaper, food also cheaper, milk powder also cheaper..... so maybe you can consider staying in JB and commute to singapore to work. :)

no worries, you just have to find trusted shops. And when shopping for specs, its even less risky becos I dont look for these brand names. I look for good quality specs with authenticity.

And their service is much better than those in sg. Especially if you are fm sg, i think their reception towards you may be even mre endearing & welcoming. No black faces gauranteed.

You go inside a sg retail chain store and start asking more questions than they think is necessary and they start to give you faces (that kind of faces that gives you the feeling that if you have no intention to buy then dont waste my time) or just simply ignore you.

the dog better don believe wat the xiao boy tells you. He gives vague and half-answers and most likely mislead you. Prices from chain stores are usually higher and gives minimal discounts.

i think i got the low end frames..original is 698..then lens is 1.74 crizal (250 asti) ..total...u make a guess first? haha

icberlin are not really good value quality frames. People are just going for its branding & its look. Considering its quality, even original 698 is considered expensive. And the material is just stainless steel, not even titanium. You are just throwing $ into the german pockets and helping with reviving their euro economy. :)

yes, i know. Its still not as developed as sg tats y prices are cheaper. I think for big items like high-end specs, furniture etc you can go msia buy & have them delivered to sg. But for small items like food, i dont think its worthwhile or advisable to do that. As for house its also not advisable to stay in jb and commute. Its better for you to invest your $ in sg property.

i assume 20% is just for the frame so that makes it $558 ( it's still not cheap, can get cheaper elsewhere :).

ok. are you sure you got crizal 1.74 with 250 astig ??? try blowing (your breath) on the lens and see if you can see the logo. if there is a logo and confirm it's crizal, bring it to another shop and check and see if it's really 250 astig.

xiaokaka can comment ?

1) if u get a $400 gucci frame, its considered average. But if u get a $400 Viktor and Rolf frame, considered cheap.. so there's not really a expensive choice or cheap choice.. is which makes u feels more comfortable.. (Yes, all brands have different range of products, i know)

If a $400 frame is good but ur not comfortable with the price, why not go for rather simple Nike frames($250~+)

Look for a pair within the comfortable price range and pick shapes and sizes from there. Chances are higher priced/premium branded frames have higher quality control. (doesn't mean Cartier is alot better than Gold & Wood if u know what i mean)

2) The last time i checked, Crizal Advance stock lenses astig only till -2.00. There may be RX(custom made) orders available. But for that kind of pricing, u might also consider Nikon, Sola, Carl Zeiss or Hoya.

3) Crizal "logo on lens" is actually a water mark. Sometimes due to the lens shape u choosed, the area with the marking might be Cut off. Same applies to Carl Zeiss Laser marks.

I cant give solid answer because u asking very subjective questions.. X or Y is better? X or Y is more worth?

Which better u looking for? the price u pay now? the quality X or Y offers? and which frame will fit u better?

All these needs the buyer himself to go and try what.. like how i know what size underwear u like? prob u like boxers, maybe briefs?

Anyway, what i wanna say is Different folks Different Strokes.
