i personally think comparable only la. not better. hoya is overpriced. cos of the ads. essilor is even more overpriced. hardcore advertising.

I would rather u spend more and get zeiss. i have 2 pairs with zeiss lenses. no regrets. easy to clean all the time.

Carl Zeiss is cheaper than Tokai leh.

I just found them on google, not heard of the brand b4 and wonder about their prices.
Thanks for pointing out, I don't think they are real

I don't but with online retailer that does not list an address

Ya. I feel tokai coat similar to hoya. So spend abit more than hoya can get Zeiss lo

I'm sorry but maybe I got it wrongly.

What I got quoted for was Tokai was more expensive than Carl Zeiss or Hoya. The optician encouraged me to go for Tokai even though it was more than 50% more expensive than Hoya.

I went with Carl Zeiss in the end but I'm just unsure about his recommendation because Hoya seems more popular in this thread.

Don't worry u won't regret it. I find Zeiss sharper than hoya by a lot.

Is it? Are we talking bout same-tier to same-tier comparison, or any of the Zeiss model will beat any of the Hoya model hands-down?

I was.

Supposedly Carl Zeiss coating doesn't wash off as easily, lasts about 3 years according to the optician. Downside is, it's almost 50% more expensive. :(

I tried their so called double aspheric lenses. Supposedly to give better clarity. But when it comes to the optics of it. Material is more compacted. I don't think its as good as they described. Or maybe I just don't like the image. LOL

Got a question:

The term, "Rx", it's not a brand right?

saw this spec from japonism website. dunno if capital optical got sell this or not.

Was browsing through the older pages of this thread & came across this design, which looks rather awesome to me, but no longer listed on Japonism's site. May I know its model no. & how much was it going for back then?

But I thought every lens is kinda "customized", or does Rx only means lens customized for high astigmatism?
