hi all... need an advise here.
went to spectacle hut whom gave me $440 for ray ban titanium eyeglass, lenses - 1.74 plus multi-coat, EMI, some coating that's good for pro-long computer usage...
my degree is 875 plus astik for both eyes.

Felt uneasy as the initial deal was supposed to be sealed at $350 but they got me upgraded the package to the above
i think alright bah... your degree quite high hence the high index.. 1.74 is really high index man...

Anyone heard of Tokai lens?

Hi,

Would like to check if anyone heard of a lens brand Tokai? is it good, as compare to Hoya? I have been using Hoya all the while. Was recommended Tokai lens with 1.76 index (one of the highest ard). Wanna find out more before committing to it.

I'd say stick with Hoya. The only one scratch I had on mine was from a camera tripod that came swinging straight into my face.

I've tried various brands including Seiko (terribly poor for it's coating) but none does better when it comes to scratch resistance. I have not tried Essilors but their Crizal A2 or poly carbonate series I heard was fine if it's nothing higher than index 1.5. 1.6 onwards Hoya does better. Zeiss claims to have better clarity, etc but Hoya I feel still does better.

neat! do take a pix after u collect it.

I collected my pair today and I'm very pleased, but the extreme light weight (not a bad thing at all) and curvature of the newer higher index lenses takes getting used to. I don't have enough posts to upload or link any images but this pair of Mykita is the "Anton" in coal grey. It just replaced my older plastic pair of Viktor & Rolfs. It defines me quite differently...

PM sent.

not sure if they got 4.0 though

EDIT:

just realised. mine is 4.0 as per oakley website. but the frame i got put 2.1

I think 4.0 and 2.0 difference is just in the size. 4.0 is bigger by 1mm i think.

Does it come with the usually oakley paper box that say RX, on the side of the box will have a sticker that describes your frame. 2 x Warranty Card, one must have Larrikin chop.

If authorised dealer, they would attach the reciept to the warranty card.

If no Larriken Chop then it is not local set and must beware.

yup got the box and the metal casing.

the cloth got a tag "oakley high definition optics" - is it a generic one?

got a warranty card with Larrikin chop, which they staple the receipt together.

got a card with their address at leng kee

and one oakley booklet about their one year warranty. but what they describe inside the book seems to be for their sunglasses cos they say "You're now wearing the best eye protection on earth"

Then confirm it is original. Larriken is the distributor of Oakley in SG.
