ic! Berlin is expensive, but so are a lot of mediore, but big brand ones. I'm sure there are good frames below 500$. What's your style/frame type preference? Give us some requirements, I'm sure the lot of guys here (including me) can help you out.

thanks for the advice, really appreciate it :)

looking at rimless/half rims frames
for the typical young executive look
clean,smart and not too flashy

would prob be checking out the spec shop at bras basah and also soon lee @ sim lim towers over the weekend
seems great place to start looking for someone with a shoestring budget like mine

would look out for the ic! berlin frames at eyeplay if i pass by heeren too!

I haven't broke a frame since the last pair in around 1997, and degree has been pretty stable, with the addition of a 50 degree astigmatism since around 2003. I have 6 pairs now, the oldest is a 2002 Dolce & Gabbana. So most of the time, I just change the lens when they scratched .....

Can consider Swissflex - very light weight and durable.

thanks for recommendation....just checked out their website but mostly half rim or rimless.not suitable for me cuz i got high degree & lens very thick...

Hello again,

would like to ask a question,

I have a high - extreme myopia (1 side nearly 10, the other 12 index). My astigmatism is also quite high, around 400 range. I'm quite sporty person so what kind of lens should I get for my next set of spectacles? I have been using glass lens for quite some time.

From wiki, glass is the best scratch resistant. But is there any other lens should I consider?

Please help!! Thanks!! T_T

Can try contact lens for your sports? Else, stick to glass. I've got at least a dozen friends with your prescriptions, or higher, and most of them use glass.

Contact lens will be hard ones rather than soft ones. I don't really consider contact lens as they can drop off easily.

Glass is best for scratch resistance, but the rest are not that good. that's why I'm considering another alternative or cheaper. Cos my opt told me 1.7 index will cost around $390 just to make with my degree in myopia and astigmatism. T_T

yah, if you want to make plastics, but your prescription is high, it's really gonna cost an arm/leg. Capitol Optical told me the Swissflex's lens are high-impact plastic, donno he got how siao me or not .... but for you, really maybe quite thick in those plastics .....

thats why need to check how much is it for polycarbonate.

Oh yah, glasses has very low protection for UV and also the heaviest, so.. its said they are not suitable for sports purposes. T_T
