That's what the shop quoted me, I'm wondering if it's essilor lens or not with the price difference

for genuine essilor lens you can see a small transparent symbol near the nose pad. You just need to lift up against a white light background and you can see it. Depend on lens model, there may be more logos along the edge.

ask him whether his got this logo.

yes, for some lenses they do have the logo engrave to the lens. But for Airwear lens they do not have the engraving logo on the lens. what you can do is to request for a airwear card from essilor.

just came back from kwong shin optical shop recommend by 1 of u which located at bras basar complex.

straight away went to kwong shin optical shop, looks not bad, quite a few people inside.

but what i dun like is they dun have those spec on the shelves for you to try, have to go through one of the staff to try all the specs.

waited for bout 5-10 mins before anybody approaches us, well, started look for guy spec, told her budget about 200-250 for frames.

seated down, and she start taking out spec frames, tried alot then decided to settle down on 1 which cost 110 after discount.

well she was very friendly and patience wif me and my gf. but comparing wif my gf, i tried alot more spec as my gf wanted a red spec, however they have onli limited amount of red spec, so she onli have so little amount of spec to choose while i got alot :) haha.

the shop close at 7pm, reach there bout 6.20, the staff stayed on until around 8pm before we make our deposit and leave.

ask her about essilor, hoya spec, but told that she recommend some US brand called OSA? dunno how to spell, but she say alot shop using that. 1.67 index multi coat. cost 135.

so total dmg for me is 245.
same wif my gf, my gf got a frame cost 175 + lens 70, her degree very low.

was quite happy wif the outcome, very friendly staff.

quite alot of spec and brands available, 200-250 is counted low end spec for this shop as she told me the rest of the sector are all more expensive.

:) just a happy customer commenting.

RRP for essilor airwear lens is @ $160. You sure $78 for airwear lens????

Went back to the same shop (shopping mall) and asked the price again..it's now $180..just 2 weeks the price had gone up..thought GSS now, the price should be lower...well. apparently not..
At Compass Point, asked from The Lens Men optical shop..quoted me $120 essilor airwear lens combined with Swissflex rimless frame about $300 +,,quite good business..customer in and out..probably because of weekend..
Another shop, Capitol Optics in contrast...I'm the only person there..quoted me $180+

HB just wasted $150 for making new lens for his Oakley frameless specs (not sunglass). Went to Kai J**optical shop at tanjang katong complex and it wasnt done satisfactorily. HB had told the optician on the spot the specs is uncomfortable to wear........

Few days later, she called and told us to go to OJ* Optometry at Tampines 1 mall..........

Why don't u just reveal the full name of the shops so we can avoid.
Thanks. :look:

Not scared coating easy come out or spoil?

Lenses coating are hard to peel, unless you use direct soap to wash the lens eg: i got px who use hand wash soap to wash their spec. (there to much chemical in soap which destroy lens coating) Just remember washing of spec just use normal water if really so oily use lens spray to clean the lens. Second are hair spray which also one of the killer for lens as hair spray got chemical which cost lens coating to peel or even stain too!
