i just bought a new pair of tagheuer frame & i realised that at one area of the rubber arm, a few tiny threads of rubber are actually sticking out. Is this normal? May I know how can I remove these "hairs" from the rubber arms?

What I can say is many branded eyewear are made in big factories in China nowadays. These includes Guess, Ferragamo, Gucci, Oakley, Police to name a few. Normally they will not put "made in china" to protect their brand. Just like apple products, made in china but it's not made known on the package that it's made in china. :s8:

??

apple products do indicate that they are being assembled in CHINA.

most branded spec show that it is made in italy/ france / japan or usa.....

though parts might be from china...else not worth paying the premium price for it.

good rimless should be lightweight...try silhouette...

i m using a tag heuer though...

yeah, tagheuer rimless spring rubber is nice.. esp its flexible anti-slip grip makes it a good hold yet light whereas silhouette is only light but does not provide holding power.

yah tag is not simple. only spend if u haf the moolah. but price aside, the specs can last quite long..

i started this thread buying a tag frame, till now no need to change specs yet. :o

TAG is expensive but it seems tat its the oni brand i can wear thus far cos it takes into consideration many factors in its design. Comfort, fit, style, weight. It may even be better than oakley becos its side temples are soft bendable.

Whats the average price-range of 1.74 index lens nowadays? My myopia is about 800deg and abit of astigmatism.

i think 1.74 index plastic lens seems to be clearer than 1.67. my myopia is abt 800 & astig above 250 and i can get Rx lens at abt S$300. For high power like mine, i dont get those branded lens like hoya which costs standard ard $1k for 1.74 index.

MOst branded spec indeed shows that it is made in italy/france/japan , but the reality is they are made in china (most of them). This is true for those so called branded spec like Gucci , guess, ray ban, oakley. Whereas for designer brands, they may not be made in china and thus cost alot more, especially those european designers like ic berlin, mykita, alain mikli, etc.

Branded spec like gucci ,hugo boss, fendi, prada, braun buffel etc is just a brand. you are paying a premium price just for the brand logo, they are not necessary better in quality compared to some lower priced non branded spectacles.

Hi guys, I have a question.

Usually I make my lens from the optical shop near my neighbourhood, cost me around $60. However recently I made from Optical88 at the shopping mall, and the lens is $180. The description of the lens: Hizar 1.56 EMI UV.

May I know is it due to the location / brand of the store or is it a better quality lens I am getting?
