If you want to know what is the problem, find a qualified and experienced optometrist to trouble shoot for you. Otherwise, sometimes all you need is some adjustments to the frame angles and it should be fine.

yah loh... i'm searching for a good optometrist

Eye champ is having 50% sales but I suspect that they have mark up a bit n then give a massive discount of half the retail price when norm is about 20%..

Saw quite a couple of brands I like ray ban, Tom ford, Dior and Porsche design just to name a few...

Luckily starck is not under the promo brands. Else heart pain since I recently bought a pair there! Lol

of cos it doesn't help if you just go to any optical shop, besides they are not obligated if you haven't patronise them before.

for detailed trouble shooting, not many people know how to do it, especially those who are not properly trained but learn only from experience. sometimes even properly trained optometrists do not know how to do it.

on the other hand, sometimes it could be that you are very sensitive, slight changes will cause long adaptation. so inorder find out the problem, we need to rule out the possible causes for the problem.

is your service provider doing this for you when you have problem?

yah... for those who did my specs... i have told them my problem... but still couldnt pinpoint the issue....

so for the past 8 years i have made 6 pairs of specs... most expensive one is $800 with lens. cheapest is $400+. Out of the 6 pairs, only 2 can be worn... and the 2 I managed to adapt within 2days. The other 4 pairs, wear 1 week also cannot adapt.

anyone knows which place got sell hamamoto frames?

design seem quite unique and lightweight

Hamamoto frames seem not tat popular now, cos designs quite similar to the old ones, thats y optical 88 decides not to continue carrying them after selling off their remaining stocks.

i would say depends on how badly the paint is scratched off. it's not considered shoddy workmanship, but mishandling or simply due to poor quality frame.

whether acceptable or not it's up to the consumer. if you cannot accept, ask them to change the frame.

its near the screw area & i checked with another optical shop & my fren who works in this industry. Both said it is due to mishandling or careless like wad you have said. They said it doesnt look like its discoloring of the frame as it will look different. My frame is Oakley so i supposed it couldnt have been due to poor quality frame????

The paint area being scratched off is about 1mm in length, i supposed not tat bad??

if i ask them to change the frame, wouldnt it seems to be a bit too picky? Cos i dont hope to leave such impression with the shop people lest in future i return to buy fm them again it spoils our relationship.

Yes they are the same.

I think going for cheap unbranded lens is not the solution, due to quality problem. Some of those cheap lenses are lenses that don't pass QC when they are manufactured from the factory. But if you are lucky , you get good ones.

Going to a reliable and honest retailer is the solution. there are still conman, but they are minority. Charging a high price is one thing, but giving you a different product from the one agreed is obviously cheating. It's very serious if word spread around that they are dishonest. reputation will go down the drain.

May I know what is meant by the unbranded lenses does not pass QC? You mean in terms of the coating? Or the clarity of vision?
