Just went down to Kwong Shin @ Bras Basah Complex.
Placed order on tag heuer frame.

Crizal lens they charged me $357 for 1.74 index. Since a lot of posts recommended kwong shin, i believe they dont chop people.

So is $357 reasonable? My myopia is about 700-800 each eye. zZz

Crizal Advance RRP at $400. if they giving u Advance, very good deal. Not sure pricing for Crizal Easy and Crizal Basic.

Btw, nikon seecoat 1.74 @ 488.. i've seen for myself that its considerable thinner than crizal advance's.

my 2 cents

from the chart, Shamir rates Crizal advance as equivalent in quality & specs to SFT & SeeCoat
Features
Incredibly smooth and durable hydrophobic, oleophobic, anti-static multi-coat.
Benefits
Repels dust, water and grease allowing for a longer lasting cleaner surface with improved cosmetics to the wearer, durable and scratch resistant

Thanks for the feedback on the suitability of Swissflex. If they are not that durable & slip off easily, I might compare them with the Silhouette range of rimless frames too which I saw are also quite minimalistic kind of look.

BTW, Oliver People's Larrabee looks good!

I personally feels that crizal coating doesnt last as long compared to other decent brands.

Thats just me, as i didn't have very good overall results when selling my patients crizal lenses as well as myself.

That being said, im a owner of a pair of Crizal Single Vision Azio Transistions VI GREY 1.67

By the way, anyone has any tips on washing spectacles? Especially after a day's work. The frames (ear mounted area) as well as the nose support gets oily.

The staff from Kwong Shin says use mama lemon, lather into bubbles with your hands, and wash it with tap water. Will this damage the spectacles? I am concern about the coating of the lenses. Will it wear off more easily if using this method?

Is this method even the right way?

If u only use the MaMa Lemon to wash the sides, it won't affect the lenses coating what..

I have been doing this, including cleaning the lens with mama lemon. Won't harm the lens.

Just need to be careful if your specs have screws, which might not be made from good grade stainless steel. The frame might be ok, but the screw rust.

i have difficulties washing some places which are hard to reach due to frame constraints / design. Only Certain part of the nosepads i can reach with my fingers, as i think the position of nosepads doesnt fit the washing action of my fingers. :(

actually y shd you bother to take so much care for your lenses, if it gets spoilt just change a new pair. I bet your lenses cant be as expensive as mine.
