Usually is prescription lense more ex or the frame more ex? Frame let says $200+, lense short-sighted about 150-250 each eyes with "shan guang"?

If never specify any brand lense, what brand will they use?

Both can be quite ex.. frame can reach till $1k+ like Starks designs.. Lens can reach till $700+ for hoya 1.67 sft transistions.

If never specify brand, they can give what ever lenses they want.

If they're are nice perhaps they will give you something mid range. I usually ask for cheap low end lense, I'm not caught up in that Hoya essilor zeiss stuff.

Can I just change my spectacle frame I bought recently with the shop?

I tried the frame sample on in another shop but that time found it was okay.

But when I order from it from another shop and it came just 2 days back and i worn, it turns out to be very disastrous.

For my face shape, it didn't match with me, its just too big for me.

where do you get yur korean frames from? Kwong shin? Korean frames are hard to find, most shops do not carry them as much as other frames yet. I think not only are they light becos they don use steel inside the plastic, their temples are also designed to be flexible, yet not flimsy, a very good balance between flexibility & grip. But nose bridge are not high enough so it will still slip off once in a while, got to keep pushing the frame up.

no space then u have to throw some away since you also wont be wearing so many. Get a spectacle rack like those optical shops which spec shops use. U can try to ask them whether they sell those racks or not, can display a few of your fav specs.

Hi Seannie

Yes, I bought two Korean plastic frames from Kwong Shin. And, very light and comfortable. No slip off problem surprising. The bridge are well designed. Economical and comforable.

Why would you need a special box if you have 3 - 4 pairs Unless, you have like 10 pairs.

How about just the lense price? for Hoya but no transition. Short-sighted abt 150-200+ per eye.

I am thinking about buying my own frame and ask the optic shop to do the lense.

Recently my dad just did a new specs. Agnes b plastic frame, Hoya transition lense, for reading and far sight, pretty thick lense for old ppl you know. At visual art optics cost total about $600+ he bargain to $550.

Another qns: are Optical88 and Spec Hut good? Or overpriced shop?

Hi all.Went to jb KSL today and try out ic berlin frames. Was quoted $1590RM(sing $646) :eek:for ic berlin(hamitton) + carl zesis 1.6 (no transition/photofusion).

The salesman there told me it's a must to use 1.6 and above lenses or else it can't fit ic berlin frame. Is it true ? Better to do it in sg in terms of price and quality ? need some advice here.thanx :D:D:D

It is better to use 1.6 cause normally for ic berlin frames design is metal rimlon (half frame), advisable to get either polycarbonate lenses or at least 1.6 index to get some impact resistance on lenses otherwise easily crack... Dun think Carl Zeiss comes out with Polycarbonate lenses... price and quality wise.. not very sure

1.6 or 1.67. Higher tensile strength for the metal rimlon designs.

or polycarbonate/airwear/pheonix

I actually did a simple test in-store with a Crizal lens and a normal one; scratch, water and dust. Well there was a difference, a slight difference which wasn't enough to justify the premium paid. The store owner was embarrassed after the test lol.
