Tempted to order online but was worried about whether the frame is suitable..
My 2 old pairs of Vivienne Westwood (just got a thing for this designer label) used Zeiss.. Coating is gone after a good 3+ 4 years..
Just changed to Ferregamo with Nikon.. And changed the lens too for one of my VW.

Any recommendation for plastic frame? I am into black n turtle shell...

Hoya Stellify vs Nulux

What the different between hoya stellify and nulux? I have just bought hoya stellify 1.6 with sft coating for 160, is it expensive?

Icberlin never breaks even when you jumo down from 50 floors it still remain intact though ur bones would have been broken all over.
Hoya lenses are ok. Nulux better with HVLL coating. Sft coating has now replaced the previous HVP and HVLL replaces sft in their respective categories, meaning consumers are getting better researched products but at a higher price. If you dont buy hoya now you may have to pay higher prices in near future when they readjusts their price lists. Good luck.

Hi, its very hard to pinpoint any particular shop. Lens prices are more or less fixed, chain stores in shopping malls dont usually give much discounts unless you try queensway SC maybe can give you better rate though not sure abt their dispensing skills and QC.

Nope, only your lenses get thicker only, higher degree thicker lens.

Yes, different types of coating names but all under hoya brand. Other lens brand like essilor and zeiss will have different coatings brands and names respectively. So far hoya is the best valued.

I know for hoya, there are few ranges of lenses: Stellify, NuLux, HiLux.

As for hoya coating: vp, hvp, sft, hi vision.

My question now is what the different between Stellify and NuLux, will appreciate someone can explain in layman terms.

Not according to prescription degrees but if your astigmatism is high over a certain degree your lens may just cost more. So if you are asking around and compare it to your regular optical shop do take note of it because if you just casually ask for the kind of lens etc the shop will quote with normal astigmatism maybe up to 250 and if yours is beyond that it is going to cost you more and thus the price may just seems much cheaper than your regular shop.

hi den, are you an optician? Can you share with us where should the top of our frame be ideally situated? Just below our eyebrows, on level with eyebrow or above?

Er if you are referring to me no I am not an optician and as to your question I think it is not where the top of the frame should be but rather how comfortable are you with the frame (I may be wrong). If you are making glasses that take into consideration some specifications like your frame, how you wear your frame and how you look at things etc. (like Essilor S series 3D/4D) it may be best to adjust the frame to fit before measuring the specifications.

actually, other than comfort, what i mean is the asethetic appearance.

100% confirmed because mine is over 250 and I always have to pay more, longer lead time too as they have to custom from the factory.

Newbie specs wearer

Hi all .. im a first time specs wearer.. and gonna go put in lenses later today. Bought a pair of Rayban frames online. Have not checked my degree and astig level yet.. Dont know what lens to go for.. If my budget is 100-150, would it be ok? Planning to go to Intergrated Eyecare Centre at vivo after work since im working near there.. appreciate your inputs

No lar bro, all things come with a price. The thinner the lens the thinner your wallet will get & vice versa. Optical line call that as index. The higher your lens index the thinner and more exoensive.
