Help my parents to sign up individual etiqa insurance with promo code "free travel" even thou we are traveling as a grp.

Since I'm not eligible for the promo as I have a etiqa product in the past. I will sign up for fwd instead.

Anyone relied on complimentary Chubb travel insurance offered by Diners Credit Card when purchasing air tickets using it?

such tie-up free Travel Insurance promos are usually not comprehensive

eg) this DCS-Chubb one DOES NOT cover Medical Evacuation ! (a big ticket item) among others

seems rather basic coverage

Don't get the cheapest
Able to share the reason? Anything hidden in t&c to look out for?

I bought fwd for 2 of my trips and looking to purchase it for another upcoming trip.

Claim experience is good and they approved my medical claim even when I'm not back in Singapore. Claim approved and paid within 1 day.

FWD can stack with ShopBack to get $3 cashback

FWD's Covid Cover is an Optional Feature ... which is good if Covid is not a concern (eg short self drive trip to Msia )

so far for me SingLife is cheapest (with Covid cover) since eligible for GTL client discounts. ShopBack gives $5 cashback.

No complains about SingLife or FWD so far.

Hi you all.. Need a bit of advice from you folks here who might be more familiar on the matter.

I am intending to buy an annual travel insurance covering ASEAN countries (coz in/out JB and sometimes travel around SEA). Then when I have to go farther places like USA/ Canada/ Dubai. Any idea if OK to just get ala carte coverage for those "single" trips? Or just get annual coverage for Worldwide, then no need to think so much?

Am worried about the mix-matching coverage and claims la.. Coz I also go for overseas work trip, where company cover during the official work trip days. Work trip with personal holiday extension, the extended holiday days I need to ownself cover. Countries depends la, where I need to go - not certain. Does that makes sense? Want to make it as cost effective as possible...

Thank you all in advance! Probably sounds trivial but not sure where to get accurate pointers. :(

The most accurate way to do it or to get pointer is to list out the min trips you'll be doing and tabulate the cost of the insurance plans. Then add up and see if it's already > annual coverage.

ok.. that is indeed very rationale! i'll follow your this suggestion. I guess I'll take an existing "Worldwide" coverage quotations from a few company as the base reference price. If ala carte price is more > than the base amount, will just go ahead with annual Worldwide insurance.

I see now everywhere got promo till end of 2023.. Probably best time to secure one from 31st Dec to cover until next year 30th Dec.

Thank you!

I estimate for Annual Plans, it wld take about 6-7 trips (to the same region), of around 7 days each trip to "breakeven"

u mentioned u have business trips with coverage. take note if u buy Single trip plan, you have to buy starting from the day u depart SG, and not just for the period not covered by Company

travel insurance promo are always ongoing, no need to FOMO

usually Single Trip plans have higher discount (eg SingLife for Mindef GTL customers get 48% off for Single vs just 25%? for Annual)

for working adult with frequent travel, a WW Annual plan of $400 -600 shld be affordable

SingLife Travel plans r worth considering, especially if u r eligible for Mindef GTL n buying single trips

Anyone has experience claiming from starr insurance. Need to claim travel delay > 6 hours which is $100 per pax and luggage delay for 18 hours which is 3 x $100. Have submitted the claim more than 1 week but so far only received a acknowledgement email from them after submitting.

I read from reddit and quite a lot of bad reviews as they either MIA or no compensation payout from them .

If u google search "travel insurance " starr insurance will listed on the top from moneysmart and singsaver website.

I didn't read the reviews until I start to file claim and realised theor reviews are very bad.
