The international school will only evacuate by 2020.

http://www.straitstimes.com/singapo...ts-hub-that-focuses-areas-heritage-and-nature

Hi everyone, Im happy to have bought a unit at visionaire 2 weeks ago.:s12::s12:

we went to see many ec showflats with available units and visited the various projects actual sites many times before deciding on Visionaire. Over the course of around 2weeks, we explored criterion, signature@yishun, parc life, brownstone, northwave etc

Chose VS for a few reasons

- exclusive private residential enclave. VS n BS are the only 2 sites that have this exclusivity feel. The rest of the other projects are mostly surrounded by hdbs and or industrial buildings. Afterall, buy ec for family to enjoy a better quality of life and living environment.

- mrt n mall location. Again, VS n BS are the only 2 that really is within walking distance to station/canberra plaza. a comparable project is parc life. however, i would very much prefer 400m straight line stroll (for VS) along park connector than the 700/800m cutting through hdb blocks and busy roads for PL.

- in terms of facilities, i tot PL's and VS's are superior. i hope that VS's 250m stretch of facilities would turn out to be truly impressive. btw, anyone knows when will the sports hub across the road be ready? They only start building in 2019/20 rite?

A recent article about when the sports hub will be completed:

www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/punggol-sembawang-get-sports-centres-2020

Preliminary work has begun for a regional sports centre (RSC) in Punggol, to be ready in 2019, and a town sports and recreation centre (TSRC) in Sembawang, expected to be completed the same year or by 2020.

An RSC is a Tier 2 facility under the Government's Sports Facilities Master Plan, second in scale only to the Tier 1 Singapore Sports Hub. A TSRC is a smaller-scale Tier 3 facility, which may include a swimming pool and indoor sports hall, among others.

The recently opened Tampines Town Hub incorporates the first RSC under the master plan. The hub includes a variety of sports facilities, a brand new regional library and countless community club programmes and amenities.

The Government plans to build five such centres in total. No fixed number has been set for the TSRCs to be built.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth's plans, the new Punggol facility will be integrated with the nearby waterways and be adjoined to the Safra clubhouse there.

Sport Singapore (SportSG) chief executive Lim Teck Yin said the Sembawang TSRC will be "an interesting proposition".

He told The New Paper in an interview last week: "(The centre) is being steered to be a facility in the park. The Admiralty House on Sembawang Hill and a lot of the surrounding greenery will be preserved.

"We are looking at some of the designs that include a landscaped natural pool, some lap pools that blend into nature, and also an indoor sports hall that blends (into the surroundings)."

ActiveSG, the national movement for sport, will branch out beyond traditional sports to target specific groups of people this year.

At present, there are ActiveSG academies for football, tennis and basketball, as well as a club for athletics.

While the movement, which comes under SportSG, will continue to expand its activities in sports such as floorball and volleyball, it will also reach out to groups such as outdoor enthusiasts and the elderly.

Mr Lim said: "This is aimed at having a bigger catchment of adults because from these activities, you can reach out to more people, and maybe from there, we can introduce them to other sports."

A 2015 report here stated that 55 per cent of Singaporeans and permanent residents (PR) took part in sports at least once a week.

This is comparable to Holland (58 per cent) but higher than the UK (46 per cent), according to a 2013 Eurobarometer study.

According to SportSG, more than half of Singaporeans and PRs engaged in sports at least once a week last year.

Since its launch in 2014, ActiveSG has seen its membership grow to 1.1 million, and the number is expected to rise as SportSG targets 25 academies by 2021.

Mr Lim said: "I think it's myopic when people say that there's no sporting culture in Singapore. Do parents value sport? I would say, increasingly, yes.

"The school curriculum has changed such that students are learning to play more, and the number of students who are actually participating beyond PE (physical education) lessons is higher."

Anyone bought a C6 flat? How's the fengshui of that layout? According to those internet research, the kitchen directly to the main door is very bad, plus the dinning table is toward the main door also. How do you plan to remedy that? anyone consulted the feng shui master ad?
Plus we bought the unit is facing NW, got west sun. Is that too bad? Any smart idea to share to remedy all these?

Window can simply put on 3M tinted film. another source of heat will come from the wall that sunlight directly hit. We couldn't do anything on the exterior wall. So you need to figure out how to isolate the heat generated from the wall interior

Don't worry. No developer wanna build house face west sun directly one. Unless no choice due to land size and landscape limitation.
Visionaire is northwest direction. C6 layout and got west sun. Is it stack 64?
Only Master bedroom and bathroom will have west sun.
Balcony with sliding door no wall. No worry
The wall that you put your bed headboard. Ask ID whether build a full height extended feature wall can help to trap the heat between the concrete and feature wall?

Stack 12 don't worry lah. Only bedroom two will impact most. Having said that. It shouldn't be any major problem. Cause VS design stucture is full height window. Glass more than concrete wall.
So as long as you do the quality tinted film for all glass panel.
Live at your dream home soon. Man.

Weekend went site at 3pm to have a look, seems like only the balcony got slanted sun.
Now the only concern becomes the fengshui issue. Main door direct to the kitchen and dinning table. Anyone engaged the fengshui master already?

You get slanted sun is bec sun location with relative to earth is not fix. All stack ( north- west) will get min sun from oct-dec period. but mar -jun period will get almost direct west sun , jun will be max.

Go site on dec, the west sun will beam parallel /straight into centre of the 2 rows of stack and into the pool.

If lower floor, the front blocks will block some of the sun, right? will it be better?
