in Tanjong Pagar area, I still see alot of guys sporting wallets from LV, Gucci, Mont Blanc, Braun Buffel, Renoma

to me, one thing about LV is that there are too many top grade imitations. I don't want people come up to me and ask:
"hey... your LV real or fake"

I think generally among guys for wallets, the usually popular brands like LV, Gucci, Mont Blanc will pop up. for quieter brands like Hermes, BV, Loewe, its really those "its either you love it, or hate it." kind

My budget is about $400+ and buying it for my girlfriend. Don't mind any other brand but it needs to meet these criteria which she likes.


- must not be saffiano or textured leather. She likes smooth calfskin leather.
- must be a fold style wallet like the one pictured above
- black or red colour.


Been combing the internet but this wallet is the only perfect one and it is either out of stock or too expensive ):

tbh, i personally don't like brand names which are hot-stamped or embossed, especially when you're paying a premium. It makes it look cheap.
Prefer it to be a solid metal tag or something.

For ladies wallet/purse, always consider a few things:
- do your GF has alot of cards?
- does she keep alot of receipts or other stuffs

Here are a few from me: I usually will recommend prada continential wallets, because their long wallets feel very secured when you hold in your hand. Previously I visit a local AD and spoke to a female SA, she was using a 2009/2010 prada continential wallet and she showed it to me. It was stuffed with cards and receipts. What's more surprising was that she was able to stuff 3 cards into one card slot and that didn't even cause the stitching to lose its shape.

the calfskin leather is nice! plus the review is also good, should find one day and head down to have a feel myself soon

I won't buy BV again. The flaw is when the stitches is out, it will "drop"

I never sit on the wallet. Always take out before sitting down (5 years)

well... thats why therr are so many brands and designs everyone has different taste n preference.

for me, I never like LV monogram design. find it too overwhelming. and too eyecatching... same goes for Gucci.

for gucci, I prefee their leather or their canvas wallets... and of cuz just a crisscross "GG" logo will do... dont need to repeat throughout...

and yes....the next wallet... HERMES
