thanks bro for your view . after reading ... yes , no 2 is junghans feel .. no 1 design is great .. very retro .. only price is holding me back .. thinking whether is it worth ... yeah .. strongly agreed with you , the dial, design, needle all very retro and nice :)s13::s13: only show we both uncle) .. will go for no 1 .. thank you

I believe stowa has the best quality/price at your budget.

you mean the re-release of the re-release:

too bad they didn't put in an el primero in the latest version.

one of those with good history and consistent character and design brands that don't cost a bomb that i look up to. been admiring the vintage pieces from afar; good to see the reissue anniversary models are staying very close.

doxa is one that i've been watching closely for a long time. however i remain undecided about the design which features a lot of case which i think won't look nice on my skinny wrist.

the bead of rice bracelet and crystal design, and bezel in feet not meters makes it faithful to the original and the 50th ann model a collectible - buy one if you can !:s12:

thanks for the advice! now i'm sorely tempted. please post wrist shots once you get yours (whether professional/sharkhunter/searambler) in nov! :s12:

Story:

…it was a cold Sunday. It had been a full month I had sold my first Rolex, the Submariner 114060. My watch box had an empty void. I had been staring at the blank every day. Something was missing from my humble collection. I miss my old friend

The Rolex has an allure I cannot explain in words. One must wear the watch and appreciate it over time. The intimacy we had, was a relationship thicker than brotherhood.

It is more than a watch. It could be a luxury watch. A piece of jewellery. A fashion statement. An identification of success. When you’re desperate – this could be a collateral at Cash Converters. In summary, it is a fine timepiece.

For a man that needs to tell the time, give him a Timex. He has no love or appreciation of the Rolex. You don’t wear a Rolex just to tell the time… (insert reason here)

It was then I was introduced to the Sea-Dweller 4000, and the rest they say is history…

I am fortunate to have other watches. Watches who could give Rolex a run for their money in terms of history and movement. But a Rolex is a Rolex. “It doesn't just tell time. It tells history.”
care to share why you eventually settled on the SD4000 rather than the 114060 vs 116600 vs DSSD?

i hazard to guess maybe:
- preference for flat crystal (ie. no cyclops).
- you like the mil-sub style full minute markings.
- ???

no money to buy both :( ... both are quartz...

do you already have an expensive luxury grail watch in mind, esp one won't lose much of it value in the long run?

save the money towards that grail instead. you'll thank me later. cheers!

hahaha .. thanks but I've a different thinking ... I buy toys and also watches I like . not really concern about losing value, we buy something we like and we love to own.

if concern about losing value, the ownership will reserve , the watch or toys will own us instead as we will handle it with care, not wearing much .. in short.. what's the point of buying then ?

my grail not very high end lah, I ish poor uncle ....just looking at an rolex model. still thinking which to get ... too many hobby .. too less money ...:s13:
