Cant sleep at night so take out my grail to take a look. Been losing 1s/day. Is it better to lose seconds or to gain seconds, any difference? COSC standard is -4/+6 any reasons why its not -5/+5 instead?

As much as i loathe the intentional NCG and psuedo gilt look.. probably its short production could give it value of time!

Happy to see it in action again!
Pls.. dont bother abt the -1sec...

Lovely watch. Don't be too obsessed by the accuracy. Enjoy wearing your watch.

Pretty comfortable on the wrist, no issues w the bracelet as discussed on WUS.

Well built and feels solid for this price point. The details on the dial are actually quite well finishing. Especially the blue tone and wordings. Obviously Can't compare to dai gor's "real hot dog."

Accuracy wise, it is on par with my seikos n miyotas.

Overall no qalms with it since I Wun be able to afford a real 5711 anytime soon. Will pass it on to someone else after the honeymoon period.

Hello.

From your previous postings, I tend to think that you are not an impulsive buyer. You will ask lots of questions, do lots of research, and tend to think very carefully before making a purchase.

However, since you have bought this watch, then stop thinking on negative side it, or keep thinking why you bought this watch in the 1st place.

Just enjoy your purchase.

I have Seiko OM, SKX 009 / 013, Orient Bambino of which all are automatic watches. For me, I will set the time 1st, and will monitor how fast / slow the watch is moving. Usually I will take a few weeks to monitor. If it is just 1 or 2 mins faster, I will not care about it, and will just wear and enjoy the watch.

P.S. Please don't call me a Bro, as I am not a Bro.

I saw there other brands such as chronoswiss, U-boat. Is Nomos good, but the design not to my liking..

I believe there no 1 holy grail and stop there lol.. pple will look forward to second third and fourth..

Is Ball watch that Bad, compare to Longines, Oris, Tag, steinstar?

ball watches use tritium gas tubes. will glow without light exposure but still weak compare with luminova/lumibrite. at 12th year, will only be half as bright. will die after 25 yrs.

Hello everyone.

It was a long time since my last posts in watch thread.

Actually I have a dilemma, and I would like to hear some opinions.

I have taken a fancy to Seiko SARB 033 / 035 for some times. My initial plan is to buy SARB 035 after I have gotten my June pay, which is end of this month.

However, as time goes by, it strikes me that the job market now is very bad. Currently I am not affected yet, but sooner or later, it surely will. Most likely I will not be retrenched, but I will not rule out the possibility that I might have a pay cut.

Furthermore, I have just applied 2 room SOBF flat in May, and will also apply BTO in August. This means I also need to consider on saving for my future home + renovations cost.

What do you think? Should I stick to my initial plan, or should I hold the purchase till later?

For me the joy of having an automatic watch is marveling at the engineering and how the components work together to still track time relatively accurately.

An automatic watch will never be perfect at timekeeping. Quartz accuracy is sadly better. So as long as your watch isn't way off specs, just chill la. :)

SARB price is not going to make a huge difference for your home/renovation plans.

If you really like the watch just get it, cos one could make an argument that being practical would mean that you should just wear a Casio basic digital watch. But I guess most of us watch lovers have already let go of some amount of practicality. :)
