the last time I visited them when they were still at shaw towers, they had another shop unit away from their sales office which house their servicing services. not sure about their new place at mellennia walk? but iirc, the idea of buying Steinhart from gnomon is that you get your Steinhart service locally instead of shipping it back to Germany for warranty purposes.

Their site shows pictures of a servicing center that looks quite pro, I would feel quite confident.

Anyways, 10 km is not easy still. 42 km is a PITA and a whole different ball game though, the people who train hard for it really enjoy the pain.

it just needs to be clean and maybe lightly polish (although this risk removing the metal!). does any jewellery shop do rhodium re-plating? maybe can get anniversary platinum rings for you & your wife!

I guess Cape Cod won't be ideal if there's plating right? Anyways I think the scratches on mine are quite deep. (I bought the Cape Cod cloth after seeing the magic it did on GX's Seiko FFF, wa, really quite magical, spent yesterday evening playing with it.)

Bro, I have to say I hate the bracelet on the SKX007.. Much prefer the one on my Mako.. It feels flimsy and flops around, not a huge fan. And I don't have the right tools to resize.

In any case I don't like rubber also, and the difference was minimal so nvm la.

Maybe can BBB more nato straps to play around. I think the SKX looks great on NATO!

if you look carefully, it is not "X". They put P and S together which resembles an X.

yeah i know all about the Professional Specifications but in the end, its an X. And you have the X on the crown too.

I prefer my original sumo with a functional automatic descriptor (no winding but movement needed), and a nice seiko S on the crown.

but thats just me.

(also think about Seiko 5 - where is the consistency?)

IIRC cheapest SD is the Landmaster. Not sure whether this Transocean is close to the MM600 SD in terms of price.

yes you are right, the landmaster is the cheapest 3 hander spring drive.

on the other hand - see what i did there - that spring drive transocean is a gmt.

I did a few passes (I think just buah 5 strokes x 2, before using microfibre to rub and smoothen it), cos there was this mark on the side.

Is that too much?
