Read up the history abt fifty fathom and it was initially jus a tool watch specifically design and wore by the French elite seal squad

Also before it started selling in jeweller store, u can only find it selling in diver shop

Massdrop always got Victorionox. Can wait for them to rotate to diver, I'm sure they will get there eventually. Not sure if price is competitive though.

Guys, how is Blancpain fifty fathoms compared to Rolex Submariner?

Saw 1 of my senior manager wearing it and what a beauty piece it is

tempted to insert the tony stark gif but I resist just this once.

the FF & rolex sub, while divers, are quite different creatures:

- the FF msrp is almost twice more of the sub, case is all shiny & polished, comes in sailcloth strap with deployant clasp, bezel is fully lumed and encased in sapphire glass, has domed crystal with AR coating, is way curvier and sexier (esp the rose gold edition) imho.

- the sub comes in a bracelet with a superior clasp with micro adjustment, ceramic bezel, +/-2 seconds accuracy a day, 5 year warranty, 10 yr service interval, has flat crystal with nor AR coating, but design is widely copied.

BUT, because of herd mentality, the rolex has better value retention.

if you can afford both, do what tony stark does.

as a rule, if you go by the head, choose rolex; if you go by the heart and wishes to be stand apart from the crowd, consider the blancpain.
