How do you find the 8200 movement? :D

did a brief review just yesterday: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/f...thread-part-11-a-5446688-9.html#post103284459

- essentially similar to and sits between seiko's 7s26/36 and 4r36 series in that it can wind but can't hack.
- movement rotor sounds grittier compared to the 4r36 if you agitate the rotor and put it next to your ear in a quiet environment.
- power reserve should be around seikos.
- but one thing i found is that the movement is damn efficient. from dead stop (i'm talking weeks not wearing it), a very slight movement will bring the seconds hand alive - we're talking even LESS effort than for the seiko 4r36! pretty impressive.
- for it's humble price, of course can't expect COSC standards lah. :D
- i chose it cos it's greyish-dark blue dial with bronze printing looks more handsome than the skx009.
- the deep dark navy blue and deep rich red of its bezel looks very beautiful as well!
- alternate day wheel in chinese (NOT Japanese kanji wheel)
- it has a slight lume pip at 3 o'clock (just like 1st gen pelagos) unlike the skx009/2nd gen gelagos which has missing lume at the 3 o'clock position.

I own the citizen automatic diver ny2300 w/ the blue dial, bronze printing and pepsi bezel with the older miyota 8200 movement. no so popular maybe, but damn value for money and more exclusive and rarer. :D

citizen's automatic miyota 9015 movement is pretty ok. 28,800vph. used in a few boutique micro-brands.

towkay....wanna sell the citizen? :D

Too swee the reflection. One handsome watch. Especially with the glass bezel insert. Didn't regret doing it.

http://www.omegawatches.com/watches/seamaster/diver-300-m/co-axial-41-mm/21230412003001/

http://www.tudorwatch.com/watches/heritage-black-bay/m79230r-0001

Given both the Omega Seamaster and the Tudor Heritage Black Bay , both cost S$5k++ before discount , which is more values for money...not talking about re-sales values.

there's only one series of omega seamaster professional chronometer divers that matters to me, and they're the Big Triangle dial versions: 2254.50, 2255.80 electric blue and 2538.20 great white gmt.

i dislike the skeleton hour/minute hands of the bond seamaster intensely (nothing against bros who own/love their bond smp) - but being stingy on the lume for the hands of a diving watch? wtf was those designers thinking?! and on the issue of hands, the bond smp seconds hand doesn't even reach into the minute chapter ring! c'mon - that's not even one step forward, 2 steps back... it's 3 steps backwards, for crying out loud!

while the new tudor black bay has the superior in-house movement with almost double the power reserve of the eta 2824-2 at 70 hrs, the servicing costs of any in-house movements will be more expensive and you're stuck with them for parts. i still prefer the aesthetics of the tudor rose dial of the eta black bay which matches the rose logo on its crown.

so for me, it's a "Nay" to both models you quoted. but buy what you like - you wear a watch to please yourself and after all, it's your hard earned money. others admiring it is just a bonus.

Thanks! Chinese date probably to cater to HK/TW market, it seems more popular there.

the day wheel is actually dual Eng-Chi like seiko day-dates. i only mention that cos it's rarely seen and in case anyone ask if its japanese kanji day wheel. since we can accept parallel import seikos with spanish/arabic/chapalang day wheels, it's not a serious issue - more for rarity nia!

those that mod seikos at Mr Goh's shop, does he do movement stuff, like swapping day wheels, crowns, swapping movements etc.?
