Haha, didn't really have a budget in mind when I started, not that wallet is deep, but its just hard to put a price tag on things sometimes. It helps that the money mainly came from my NS days, when I resisted visits to the canteen for the famous Sungei Gedong chicken chop/cutlet fried rice. The watch also serves as a reward for having lost weight from 110kg to 71kg.

It is the stories that accompany the watch which I value the most.

Mine bullish weight... nowadays, trying to stablize.

Losing excessive weight is good, but I learned that it is not a true measurement of fitness. Speaking of which, I have to take my IPPT soon. :s13:

It's good to take IPPT (means that you are still young). :D

Very well done. :) Much props to people like you who take action to better themselves, be it physically, mentally, financially (impt to hoot more watches lol)

GX bro you see me too up liao. I'm the opposite, went from 68kg to 95kg. :s22:

Wish to just give a shout out of appreciation to all the bros who advised me to keep my Sea-Dweller when I had the itch to change it to the Deepsea. I'm fully appreciating the SD now.

Weekend gun shot! :D

Think is the positioning from the start

Like Lexus and Toyota mark X

Mark x on its own is a damn decent car but always be a poor man Lexus

In that regard the aquanaut also play second fiddle to its big bro

I think what people are trying to say.
Since you're dropping such a figure.
Might as well get the nautilus instead of the Aquanaut
But serious. On the weekend. I don't mind the naut on rubber.
Looks Satki (to me) and understated at the same (to others)

Thank you! I strongly believe the weight gain is due to you carrying those unlicensed fire(arms).

There has been several rumours in other forums regarding the lack of availability of the SD4K to be ordered from Rolex Geneva by their AD or boutique, either due to a possible upgrade to 42mm or a dial change.

Very interesting times indeed, especially right before Basel 2017.

FWIW I think the Aquanaut is a fine watch. It's also kind of weird to hear things like "wannabe" or "poor man's xxx" in a forum where brands like Steinhart are generally quite well received. Just sayin'
The percentage difference between the two sets of comparisons is pretty damn significant. Do you even math?

Agree about the positioning. I mean, it's designed to come with a rubber strap by default? 🤔

I second that.

The Aquanaut is a magnificent watch with a strong following. End of the day, buy and wear what you like.

There's a difference between, "I'd rather get a Nautilus" and "the Aquanaut is a wannabe". But eh, maybe I English as much as I math

Actually the 5167 was never meant to compete with the 5711. They use the same movement which is great but the target end customer of both watches are meant to cater to different styles or uses.

The AP15202 vs the 15400 on the other hand are different movements altogether. In reality, all people see now is 39mm vs 41mm and $10,000 more of course.

They've been countless debates but my opinion, if can't choose. Get both

Er, think you care too much.. Different people here got different way of speaking, some will always give stronger style statements. Unless they are absolute trolls like someone who's gone missing now, no need to throw words too much at each other. My interpretation of that post was that i'd want to spend that money, can consider throwing in more for something else which they prefer.

Steinhart and Squale and a lot of other brands do homage, which -are- technically wannabes. They're meant to let people scratch itch for certain design when they don't want to fork out more money, more than 10x the price.

Not quite the same as saying that a model of a GOSU brand is perceived as inferior to another model from same brand la.. At least to me.

We all care enough to post here, don't we? I pointed out something that seemed ironic to me. Wasn't directing my post at anyone. Hey, a strong style of expression is fine, but if you can dish 'em out, better be able to take some as well. Not directing this towards you. Next post will be back to regular business.
