for the benefit of some, i'm sharing some advice i gave over pm. please amend/add if necessary. thanks bros!

thks for your advice. if buy online, i dun really know how to tell the condition, how abt HJ reputation?
I went to PP complex, didnt see anything, stock level very low too.
will go PP centre to hv a look.

1. ask to borrow their loupe and eyeball the watch dial & condition yourself.

2. inspect the bracelet condition and how tight/secure the clasp it. there should not be any bracelet stretch/droop.

3. check the case, it should not be overpolished and the lugs too thin/unsymmetrical.

4. ask permission to unscrew the crown and GENTLY do it and pull it all the way out to see if it hacks (second hand stops).

5. advance the hour hand slowly and gently (you wouldn't want to break it or its yours) until almost midnight. watch the date window. it should snap over the next date instantly at 12 midnight sharp.

6. try winding the watch (again gently). it should feel buttery smooth and quality.

7. ask to check for the watch accuracy on their time-o-grapher. this should indicate to you if they had/bothered to set the watch back to COSC standards/may have service/oil it.

8. bring a rolex owner who knows his stuff along.

9. finally buy your insurance: pay $107 to RSC to have a paper receipt that they've opened & inspected the watch. RSC won't issue one if it's a fake.

Very happy, this is a watch that I actually don't feel like rotating. So understated, yet quietly beautiful. Light and a good size, not that much larger than my sold off OVM. And super comfortable, because of the light weight. The OVM used to sag a little on one side , not that it wasn't comfy but it would sometimes leave marks that occasionally itched a little. No such thing so far for Pelagos.

And of course the huge bonus is the lume. Lume is really a vanity thing I feel. After all, if you really need to see the time these days there's your smartphone, and a G-Shock EL light will always trounce lume right? But it's kinda like having a 2-in-1 watch when your watch is also pretty in the dark.

I was also very concerned that it would be a bad match for office wear, but that's not the case. It slides under my cuff relatively easily - though I suspect it won't do for a set of shirts where the tailors didn't quite do the allowance for a watch properly, but I have my Oceanus for those.

Of course there's also a sense of glee that I paid a good price for it too! The condition is good enough for me, a lot of scratches on the bracelet and side of the case, but funnily enough they look perfectly at home with the toolish feel of the Pelagos.

well, having made the decision to sell, you already posted your eulogy for your pelagos, so after a brief period of mourning, you should move on to you next grail. just enjoy the good memories you had with your pelagos. (yeah i know it sounds a bit sick cos i described it like breaking up with an ex-gf or farewell to a dear old relative, roflmao!)

SO... what's your next target now that you've attained the everyman's grail, the rolex sub 114060? being young and loaded? 1st world problems!

ps. i think some bros miss your biceps, so i think you owe it to them to post wrist shots in your singlet/tank top. so go, bro!

Well said. In fact, I find the Pelagos to wear smaller than the OVM as its lugs are curved. Once again, enjoy the watch and wear it in the best of health!

tried it on my nomos (+20 spd) and it removed the magnetism totally according to my iphone magnetic sensor (its really sensitive)


tried it on my speedy pro (+66 spd) and it couldnt remove the magnetism after many many tries
think i'll have to visit swatch service ctr liao...

well, that just suck! didn't you get your brand new speedy that came with a humungous box less than a year ago?

what did you do and where did you go that expose your watches to such high magnetism?

get an milgausse or better yet the anti-magnetic omega aqua terra. or just wear a g-shock.
