GST / VAT is a consumption tax; i.e. either pay VAT overseas or GST when back - however no sane person will pay 19% / 21% VAT so the SG tax authorities will definitely want to impose GST...

Then again, most consumers get away with not declaring, just like how people bring back multiple bottles of wine from australia or new zealand without declaring and still buy their quota at DFS. :s13:

the gst clause is nonsense.
why the f should i pay for local tax when item is bought overseas for personal use.
why should i pay the govt when there's no goods or service rendered to me when i bought it?

even if you want to flip, sure can thru easy if you know the way customs work. BUT don't do it too oftenly.

time to time, can flip one. if not how air steward or stewardess can flip branded goods online.

Things brought in by retailers from overseas are also subject to GST. You are questioning why you have to pay consumption tax. You pay that once in Singapore.

Its up to you whether you choose to declare or not. You know the consequences.
