Hi bros, actually i found out the problem after i purchased it, thats why i went back to the seller for more information. but he mentioned no idea about that and ask me go rsc instead.

Bro Seng, it's not like normal winding sound, it's very coarse and it's not smooth when winding it.

I sent it in to rsc on Friday and she (the frontdesk lady) mentioned that something is amiss with the winding. They will take in the watch for 2 weeks to rectify the issue.

Can you imagine, me being all eager to put it on and now it has to be at rsc for 2 weeks :(

At the risk of venturing a guess, could be dried out oil or manufacturing defect, after all, Rolex does produce a large amount of watches ever year.

Think of it this way, once it is back from RSC, you would have a watch that can last you for many years before its next visit. :s12: Besides, it is always a pleasure to visit RSC, their customer service is top-notch.

hmm Bro Seng, I get your point. Just frustrated the seller unable to assist me on this plus the watch is only 1 year old. Did not expect problems to arise from just 1 year of using.

Unlucky me I guess.

No need to worry, that's what the international warranty is there for, besides, I'm sure you would prefer a trained watchmaker to take a look at your watch. I'm not accustomed to the buying and selling of watches, but I feel there is very little for the seller to do, especially as you did the inspection of the watch.

Just did a quick search around, and I think I may know what you mean, when I wind my watch, it feels like turning the tumbler on a safe (like the locks given to me during NS :s13:), it is consistent and smooth.

However, there are people that noted that after a few turns, the winding starts having a bit of resistance (which is normal as the mainspring has more tension), until the point where it engages the slipping clutch device and a more audible 'clicking' sound would be heard if you were to keep winding the watch.

Maybe the slipping clutch device just needs an adjustment at RSC? Maybe next week you will receive a call to pick it up :look:

The thing is, if the seller give to you you ok, then you go back to him say got problem, he has every right to say that it could have developed after you bought. Exception is of course things that develop over time like rust.

It's just bad luck. If you have tested it before you bought it then nothing you can do. Not much you can expect the seller to do unless the seller can repair watches. Even then, would you want a 3rd party to open the watch when this is a warranty piece?

So just blame it on luck n look forward to wearing the watch.
