hi there. first up, disclaimer: i'm not a pam owner nor aficionado, but is that a new/current model? as my taste is more for for oop watches, pre-owned is the route for me. but if you buy from private sales, do take note of this cautionary tale: http://swx.com.sg/forum/swx-trading-pit-references/negative-territory/77043-scam-cheat-alert

because scams/fakes with even b+p is out there, the safest (but costlier) route is to buy from boutique/AD. if buy pre-own, send it to the authorized agent to verify. a middle ground is buy from a shop that's been in business for years. they're unlikely to sell fakes to jeopardize their long term business.

the shop i recently bought my 16570 polar explorer II opened up the caseback (i know squat how to authenticate) & removed the bracelet for me to look. but they took photos if the movement, the watch s/n and the watch model #. AND they meticulously wrote down ALL these details (including the # on the inside of my watch clasp) on the receipt with my personal particulars. have to hand it to them for being so legit. so with this documentation, if it ever turns out to be fake, the shop can't deny.

if you're getting brand new, it's so much easier & less complicated. just search online for panerai boutiques & ADs and visit them in turn. since it's brand new, the prices will be in a tighter range, so what you may want to look for is the entire purchase experience (along with what discount you can swing + PAM premiums/gifts the boutique/AD is willing to give you - don't ask, don't get )

The contrast on the bezel and bracelet can get a little jarring sometimes. The sub on the other hand, you can just throw on and forget about it for the rest of the day.

Got a very good quote for a pre-owned Explorer II. Then went to another shop nearest to Tang gave me a very,very good quote for a brand new Explorer II.

I try hands on for Tudor. No feel for Tudor. Just doesn't appeals to me. No offence, it's a very sexy looking watch on pictures but IRL, wearing it, just no feel. Hahaha

don't say buy watches, sometimes u talk to the salesperson they can also give u some insightful knowledge...
