Just my two cents, during my search for my first watch, I was reading up on the Sea-Dweller and the history (development) behind them and I took a liking to the 16660 (Triple-6).

The main reason being its produced during the transition between the vintage and modern Sea-Dwellers, like its retention of the matte dial, lug holes and updates such as the sapphire crystal and use of the caliber 3035 movement.

But if you are able to source and afford a 1665, especially a DRSD, that would really up your game as GX said.

transition models to me, are not vintage. like they're call, transiting from the old design to modern.

Plus tritium painted plots are way nicer than the mini white gold surround plots which doesn't seem to pop up (don't have the fweels)

1665 great white can be gotten around 18-20k iirc
1665 double red def 25k and above.

if not a 5513 would be solid too. to complement the hulk.

because 5513 > hulk oops. haha

I was in quite a similar situation as you a few weeks ago (except that this is my first Rolex), so I ultimately went for a 116600 due to these factors:

1) Cerachrom bezel
2) Bigger markers and hands
3) Bigger lugs

These are personal preferences, although I tried on the 16600 a week back and it looked great as well with the smaller lugs.

In your case, I guess you could go the vintage route and get an earlier model with lug holes for a vintage tool watch look (again, some people love em, while others don't) on the case.

i think by end of the year or next year, u can see preowned below 20k

then maybe its time to go in.

stainless steel daytona prices was never sold below retail or at retail anyway.

I would have definitely gone for Damasko if the lume was on par with Steinhart's Nav B Chrono..

At that point in time, I was torn between lume and better sized watch, and look. In the end lower price did me in.

bro coern, in your opinion, do you reckon the premium paid for hulk over subC is worth it? Contemplating getting the hulk...

i was sad to sell my 114060, then i got the 116600 before i sold that too. both are good but i preferred the 114060 more.

....i hope not to slap my own face again by getting another 114060. But at least new year resolution for now is no new watches

Care to share why you find it less versatile? Not suitable for daily wear?

i was sad to sell my 114060, then i got the 116600 before i sold that too. both are good but i preferred the 114060 more.

....i hope not to slap my own face again by getting another 114060. But at least new year resolution for now is no new watches

Unlike the original Cartier rubber strap, this 1 comes with micro adjustments. More comfortable...

Hopefully the black paint on the strap metal links don't wear off so soon...

Strap width to small? Still got gap between the lugs.

Yep. Bought the 22mm. There's no 23mm option, 24mm will be tight and scratch the sides of the lug. I tried to shake my wrist about, and the straps didn't jerk the watch around so its good I guess..

I feel the Hulk looks more of a casual/fun watch. The colour of the dial is great looking and eye catching
