If you don't need to max out your budget and he's not that into watches (if not I suspect you'd know right off what to get him), get a Steinhart. Maybe OT500 or Nav B Chrono, depending on what his lifestyle is like. :)
The chrono will probably speak to him better. In my shortlist!

2k for 21st birthday so much?! I got a satki DW for my 21st. You can consider that.

On a serious note, I feel this will work really well

Ball Trainmaster Eternity. Went to check price last Saturday and it is 2235 after discount. Really dressy and classic piece imo

Haha. I really don't know. First time buying a 21st birthday present for my own child. I guess, its easier with daughters.
He actually hinted at a Breitling ...... but that's way too much.
I think the Trainmaster is too classic, dressy for him. He's doing NS now.

Do consider seiko's new blue lagoon turtle or samurai.

It's just launched recently and can be considered his 21st birth year watch when he carry the watch into adulthood or even ahgonghood.

The money saved can go towards a good meal, his tertiary edu or even travel voucher for his post ord travel :p

I feel that a dressy piece can always be really helpful when the occasion rises. It's rare to see a father doting on his son as dads usually favor the daughter more than the son

Any suggestions for watches suitable for:
- 21st birthday
- male
- other watches he owns are a Samsung S3 Frontier, a Tissot dress watch (used, from me) and a casual Seiko 5 (used, from me)
- budget less than $2000
- maybe a rugged, manly looking watch (sports, pilot etc)?

Thanks!

WAH when I'm 21 my dad never buy me watch :( haha I bought my orient flight last year when I was 21 :s22:
