A series is luminova I guess, don't think is tritium

I guess the major diff is the Rolex rehaut aka chapter ring, the papers and solid end links that is the major diff. Think the z series is 3185

And price Diff of 1k

U guys think the 1k top up worth it? Not intending to pass down and prolly will trade for nicer models in future. Hence wondering for secondary market those diff do worth the additional 1k between the two

Considering that you pointed out that this purchase is intended to be more of "wearing for the moment" and open to trade than as a keeper, then I would say just go for the one that appeals better to you.

The differences you highlighted are factored into the pricing and when you decide to trade in the future, the price differential between both are likely to be proportional (i.e. minimal arbitrage opportunity), unless some ground breaking discovery (probably a defect of sorts, if only emerging at this junction) specific to the A or Z series polar Exp 2 emerges.

I might have an answer oredi, cos I'm swaying more towards z series
It's 2007 watch vs year 1999 watch
And the differences SEL, rehaut, papers full set for additional 1k makes the z series relatively undervalued compared to the A series

Dom - yatto dai kor has pretty good AD relationships.. so u should go for it!

On a separate note, have you considered JLC Reverso or Master collection, or similar dress watches? I do feel such genre would complement your style better.

Just to highlight, AD discounts for JLC are usually pretty good, so don't be put off by RRP.

But ultimately, you should get what you appeals most to you, all factors considered.

Had wanted to get this some time back but decided to save up for something else. It's really a very nice and classy piece IMHO. Especially in gold and brown strap. I tried the JLC reverso but find them too thick. This one is just nice.

IMHO the santos is quite an iconic dress/casual watch at this side of the budget. Wife and I share the watch.

The santos actually fits my bill too, smart use of black, silver and white, not over flashy but I just never like roman numerals on any watch. My sis in law has it, and my wife mentioned she liked it a few times. Went as far as me telling her lets go buy but she didn't pursue. Definitely one of those unique watches based on looks alone. It has that elegance that transports me back to the classical era....that nice feeling.

quite the opposite. I love roman numerals for dress watches.

why not get her a surprise gift then? If you don't mind preowned they can be bought for much cheaper than brand new.
