those who dabbles with vintage, going back to RSC is equivalent to throwing their watch away LOL
U go there, specifically tell them don't change, they still change.
the tech will keep the parts and flip if they know their stuff because all these are considered written off = thrash.

to add on, 1680 have silver date wheel instead of white.

the hands and dial looks fine, doesn't look relume as its not thick and very even out.

I agree too. Doesn't seem relume to me too. It's not that really ancient piece that pitting and corrosion should happen. With a good condition case with waterproofing done and kept properly, moisture shouldn't enter the inner case.

Anyway it's an amazing watch!

it's also how you keep it. some NOS after so many years also damn power.
end up in auctions.

sometimes if never really open case, u thrash the case outside, internally will look swee as long u store it in a controlled environment.

my 1680 case chui but the dial is good.

I must say I really don't get vintage. It's like paying more money for old things that don't work as well and are a huge hassle to maintain. If it's a family heirloom, fine. But it's someone else's story so the sense of history claimed is as faux as faux vintage lume. Maybe I can understand iconic models, that did firsts in whatever field they broke into, ok then you are respecting the history or lineage. This goes for bags, cars etc, not just watches.

Just a random thought. But that's just me la. Not trying to shove my opinion down someone else's throat by making the point repeatedly.

no need service, just repair...
mine the crown is stuck, cannot wind up, can adjust time though, but after pushed in, cannot wind...
happened before, abt few yrs ago while still within warranty, the receptionist told me it's the colume wheel stuck... i was like wtf? where got colume wheel?
that time they just took like 20-30mins to repair...

my speedy is 3573.5, crystal front and back...

their website show service fee for chronograph was $930...
i hope that's includes polishing, replacing rubber ring and all.
hope repair fee is lower

Yar, I'm not saying that vintage is silly, just that I can't understand, and my logic is presented, that's all.

Because I cringed when I saw that dial. Clearly not drawn to it, not my cup of tea. Different folks different strokes. Some people like modern, some people like vintage. We all have our reasons.

I also cant understand..
A simple 5513R-serial and 14060m..
Better materials and better movement.. but cheaper?

That's why any watch or even anything if after repaired I sell it away.. Will not keep it unless got sentimental values..
