Bizarre experience with Meranom, which has very good reviews on the net:
1) Made order 6 Jun, and initiated cancellation on 10 Jun apologetically as I had a change in mind.
2) Seller agreed to partial refund on 10 Jun, and said that he could not refund the parts change fee, which I agreed to. I thought this was simple enough - just one or two clicks on Paypal, right?
3) Nope, 12 Jun I check in on the status and the refund is still not initiated. I Whatsapp Dmitry, and he checks and says that refund will be made "soon".
4) 13 Jun, I get a reply from my email of 12 Jun, which states "please wait". Not very informative.
5) 14 Jun, I check with Dmitry again and he asks me to only check on orders via email. I have already opened a case with Paypal.
I think prior to this, I had a very good impression - Dmitry replied to Whatsapp messages fast, was very prompt.. But when it comes to refunds, it's a little frustrating. I can accept if the company explains why it is taking so long, after all, it's my fault for the change in mind. But I don't understand why the customer's expectations are being built up, and I have to keep following up to check on the refund.
But then again, my first Vostok purchase on eBay also required me to check in on the shipment. Maybe it's a Russian thing?
Update - well that was fast, the moment I open a case with Paypal I got my refund.
