if you are very particular about quality and tactile feel, this isnt the watch for you. the watch is very light, it lacks heft and weight of a solid watch. the finishing is not as remarkable as omega.

the crystal has a domed convex surface, there is difficultly reading time at side angles.

however, if you discount the above, it remains a good product.

there is another alternative. 2.2k after discount if you can bargain smartly.

baume-et-mercier

IMHO, for B&M, only the capeland 10006 worth getting, though the price-to-value is highly controversial:

Hey guys what do you all think about the new Orient Aviator Flight series? I particularly like the blue one ER2A004D

Official product information: http://www.orient-watch.com/products/category/item/?category_id=159

video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GDA54p3dL0&list=UU8RnO5Tuj3g_DRz4OCnsFHg&index=2

I'm in my early 20s studying in uni, I don't think I need a very expensive watch, doesn't fit my current student status. And I'm a sporty person, so I think this really suits me. What you guys think? And where can I get this watch? Is ordering from Island Watch safe? Thanks for the advice!

Go for it if design & budget suits u.... Orient is worth considering. :)
There are also similar designs from Seiko, Oris, Hamilton etc.

Tissot and CW, I get CW
Vs Stowa I get stowa

5 yr warranty plus they cover your shipping cost to them can't beat that
60 days return policy, even impulse buy also can return for full refund. Unlike tissot or stowa no refund

Personally my heart goes for Visodate.... :)

GMT Master IIC (First choice but out of my budget)
2toneGMTs.jpg

Explorer II (First choice tied Love the white face)
657073d1332206237-white-face-stainless-steel-41mm-under-$3-500-please-help-me-find-perfect-match-explorer-2.jpg

Chopard Pro One LUC GMT (Looking for modern alternatives to GMT Master and AVOIDING Omega but out of my budget)
Chopard-Pro-One-GMT.jpg

Chopard GT XL Power Reserve (ETA movement but love its modern look and AVOIDING Tag Heuer)
168457-3002.jpg

Anyone know of any good alternatives under 10K (Rolex i am going for preowned so its not an issue)

Chopard L.U.C Pro One GMT Mens Watch 16/8959

Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL White Dial Chronograph Mens Watch 15-8459-3002

The GMT chrono prices overseas is pretty attractive Valjoux 7753. Any other Chrono GMT around?

That Chopard has a LE which retails $11,800 and nice sporty look. Their entry lvl XL MG sells around $7.4K.

Will choose Explorer II for above selection.

Understand their master collection starts from $2.8K to 4K prior discount.
If that bro has 35% offer for staff discount, that's really a definite buy.

Around $10-12k b4 discount, these on base on ETA 7750

Chopard just release base in house movement but prices on a simple 3 hand steel leather band cost us$14k b4 discount

Discount can go up to 25% off if you know staff well.... pls try at newly opened Cortina Chinatown Point.

With their latest new collection & "EXTRA" pricing strategy, Omega is definitely trying to compete, benchmark and move up to higher end Tier1 or 2 Prestige ladder ... but somehow I think it still not there yet.... :)

i felt that the new omega pieces are of top tier 2 quality but the brand doesnt justify that kind of $$

5 to 10 years back, you want buy used omega..everything all under 2k.

i remember that i was shopping in isetan scotts, they have a brand boutique by all watches and omega watches was priced cheaply..

the smp quartz 2264 41mm if i rmb correctly was selling for only 2.5k retail. automatic 2254 was only 3.4k or 3.6k

nowadays the omega pricing is ludicruous.
6.5k for a limited edition 2500 cal smp :s22:

not an inhouse movement or a watch built with exquisite materials

This should be used piece as no longer available as NEW anymore.
At $2.2K or $2K better, i think worth buying for its design.. classic look..... it is also one of better sought-after vintage seamaster and its value should go up & up away :)

i think its a good piece. better than the old PO.
more rugged and sporty
