the platinum dial may cost a bit more but looks bland. the blue dial is more outstanding.

Blue dial costs less than grey dial? I think bezel is platinum for both but not sure if grey dial is platinum too.

For grey dial, i would personally go for a pre-owned. The YM is not particularly popular and i think could be gotten at a good price pre-owned.

But agree the blue dial is more interesting. I tried on the grey dial before and does not appeal.

Doubt so. This edition was just released in boutiques.

You probably saw the regular perpetual calenders.

Prices of tourbillons are ....... It's as if tourbillons were created to provide the rich and showy to further differentiate themselves.

A tourbillon purchase by my definition of "when I can afford it" would be after I manage to own a few properties, have a few million in liquid cash and no loans to pay off.. which is sadly, pretty much not going to happen in the foreseeable future. Haha.

I love watches and have spent quite abit on them, by my own standards. Tourbillons are in another league that I don't belong to.

Agreed. Max I'll blow on a watch is 50. I can't afford any more beyond that range.

TBs are for elites.

I remember at least five years back, have asked prices for a swiss tourbillon. No other complications. $50k?

Swatch had a ONE watch or something. Comes with a diamond and a minute-tourbillon or something. Limited to 1000pcs in the world. 6k?

Actually that's pretty much their function these days. Their original intention to counter and negate the effects of gravity on timepieces was never substantially verified. :s8:

They are just pretty little things to look at and show off for those who can afford.

I do remember coming across a brand of chinese watch with tourbillon that are in the hundreds price range but of course don't expect swiss standard of decoration and beauty. They look pretty rough and unfinished. But still it's amazing the chinese can produce and sell working tourbillons watches at that kind of pricing. Give them a few more years and tourbillons with nice finishing may soon be accessible to most public.

Whack a Seagull Tourbillon lor, they do make some nice and reliable ones, cheapest "real" one direct from manufacturer will be around 5k to 6k i think, sometimes sales can be as low as 3k as long as not brand concious haha...

There was a watch article I read (probably can be googled) of how Chinese tourbillons may threaten the Swiss watch giants' romantic stories of the watchmaking mastery going into producing a tourbillon and more importantly, wipe out the snob and exclusivity factor that tourbillons currently carry.
