Anyone knows where I can find the Timex Originals Easy Reader Tan/Black Leather watch in Singapore? Been to Bencoolen and Timex store at OG, they don't carry this particular model.

For me... i'm a watch knob. (Sorry ah... i HAVE use this term cuz the last few entries just sound so "watch snob" to me)

As much as I will go read n understand the history of watchmakers, the movements they use, the innovations they make. The no. Of hours they spend in making the watch, if a watch doesn't look good on me, even if its a million dollar, screw all that...

Fak it if its automatic, solar, kinetic, manual or quartz...i buy a watch because I appreciate having it and enjoy wearing it. everyday

If you consider DD image to be tarnish by people from the dark side... then the SUB image should be badly tarnish by people who wear it to any occasions n events Even thou Rolex made it to be a diver

For me, sub is the penultimate james bond, macho man and suave dude imagery that made me want to own one and shamelessly imagine it will make me a 'better' man. That's y i bought my sub and no regrets. Like u said, what the heck, I enjoy it and that's most important to me.:D

that's why i spot a sundial on my wrist.

1. no movement to spoil or service. (mechanical watches needs servicing every 4-5 yrs? weak lah! - mine is more perpetual than perpetual - it solar powered to last for the next few billion yrs. no sissy shaking of the wrist to power it).

2. environmentally friendly with no battery disposal problems. (i'm casting my beady eyes on you quartz watches).

3. night time? night time is for sleeping, lah! need to know the time for what?

4. alarm? i keep a rooster or a few extra as backup.

=:p

Same same :s13: I also aiming sub!!! but after my mum's medical condition gets better then I will hoot one...

the argument about the relationship between sub and james bond is down the middle.
there are people like you who knows abt SUB after they watched James Bond movies and is able to associate very well with it...
while there are others, in WUS, Watch Snob, sgroc etc, dislike this relationship

but for me... I know about sub because of rolex, not through james bond

but one way or the other... I must say that Rolex made a VERY, VERY smart marketing move by getting every Bond to wear sub in any situation, any occasion... otherwise sub won't be where it is today

I am not that old to hv known the sub thru james bond, not tat i m young.. But it just has the masculine appeal to me. N the james bond factor sealed it for me. Mine's a 16610 tho... Not the purist james bond watch

For me, the omega seamaster just dun have the aura to match up. Anw hope u join the sub club soon!

Rolex marketing and advertisement history, choice of endorsed celebs thru the years, is another interesting piece in itself altogether
