I feel your pain

Because of this, I gained natural immunity towards your similar bambino, snzh or Pam poison.

Yes bro, stainless steel became ainless steel. Shows that its truely authentic. hahahaha

which explains why it went on sale, they mass produced ainless steel for this particular model i guess,
nothing serious to us honestly because we gain a good deal for a nice looking watch

yeah that's a nice "pepsi" look...this id definitely smaller than the deep blue t100 watch that you started with - that's and oversized diver at 45mm across.

pictures can be deceiving - nothing beats trying it out until you are certain which shape/sizes will fit you...

for mods most guys bring it down to K2 and just pay the owner a low service feed to open up the watch and change dials/hands/crystals etc.... but i'm sure you'll learn how to change the straps yourself if you like those cloth type (NATO) with the rolex picture.

but don't jump the gun, go through this link here, there are slight variations to the colours and so many to choose from. look carefully you will also find sizing info. good prices and local store in chinatown means you can order online and go to the shop and pickup.
Seiko divers watch

steinhart ocean 1 gmt blue/red is similar too (S$712)

this has a swiss movement with second timezone (GMT)

Update

Got a chance today to try out my work mates Seiko SKX033 (Pepsi). It's a 40mm watch and too small for my wrist,

Got to try another work mates SNZF17K and it's a little bigger; Case diameter: 43.5mm (with crown).

Going to give up the SKX031/33 hunt.

ok here's one in action, late lunch today:

damn cheap watch for the looks and quality if you asked me. the jubilee bracelet is very comfortable... the endlinks are the main weakness, I stuffed some blutak into it to make it "solid" :)

the other thing is the hands, will likely mod to mercedes hands which i think goes better with the look. wouldn't change anything else. get more wrist time probably due to its original status compared to the fff mod cousin.

here's a discussion on another forum if you've not seen it yet.
The ultimate decision?? Seiko SNZF17 VS SKX031 VS SNZH55 VS Steinhart Ocean (Vintage Red or GMT )

Cheap but looks fairly good. Seems to 'fit' your hand. It's small on mine however.

I think I'd do better with a 45mm watch. That leaves me with Steinhart, though it's a maybe.

What a discussion, I guess it boils down to personality in the end.

No FFF Mod please, seen too many on this forum already.

Maybe get a Nato strap and have the Bezel changed to 1/2 Red/Blue and have it lumed :)
