Niceeee!

Am I seeing a furman power con and a M-Audio AI on the bottom right?

Great Speakers too!

Hs50 is very unbiased sounding, have a sub too.

So i presume you dont do 5.1 mixing?
I think I've used the M-Audio AI only for a week while my RME PCI card was being shipped from the US. I bought it when I switched computers that couldn't run my old PCI card.

Sigh, I have too much stuff that I don't really use. I think I have 4-5 AI's lying around the house.

Yes, the HS50's left a good impression when I heard them.

No, I don't do 5.1. The other Mac Pro is for when I need to run VEP (Vienna Ensemble Pro). For bigger projects where I'm simulating an orchestra, one computer's power is not enough.

I think studio monitors are kinda "hidden" from the non-musician consumers. They represent great value for money in terms of the sound quality. The amount of money that you spend on a remote preamp + a pair of studio monitors would sound definitely sound better than if you spent the same amount on a typical integrated amp + passive speakers type setup.

Yes, quite obvious that music is my thing, haha. Gifted ears? Well, I can't deny that there is an element of that. I knew I wanted to be a musician since I was 5 years old.

I probably have >10 pair of headphones/earphones, for different purposes.

Custom high-end IEM's are crucial for situations where you need sonic accuracy, noise isolation and perfect fit while moving around all the time, like playing in a concert.

Generic fit IEM's are great for general use, like exercise or traveling. I mean, you can of course use cheap earphones, but for me, it's an occupational hazard. I can't stand the sound of inaccurate earphones.

Headphones are perfect for studio use, like recording or referencing. The have bigger drivers and generally sound more "effortless" and comfortable to wear for very long periods.

I can't stand low quality music too.. Lol which Iem and headphone the most accurate in yr opinion? Isst etymotic?

I haven't tried that many to be honest. And non of them are really "accurate" when compared with a set of studio monitors in a treated room.

However, I could trust musical judgements made on Unique Melody Miracles and Westone UM3 (more coloured, but still quite enjoyable).

Ety's don't have enough extension on both ends to me. They're all about mids.

Shures are dull generally. Especially the high end ones. It's as if someone covered the drivers with a piece of cloth.

Amex centurion aka black card, exclusive yes, but problem is Amex is not widely accepted as visa or master.

There's other card as exclusive as the black card as well, DBS insignia VI, Citi Ultima VI.

Only 7 digit income to be invited

Have you tried FitEar TG1334 or Jerry Harvey's JH16? It might jolt your view on sound.

sorry for out of topic. I've tried some of these products and alot of them "process" the audio within the earpiece before you hear it, making it "unrealistic" for productions, or they are not comfortable for long hours of wearing

so far, these are the few which I love and are affordable:
- Audio-Technica ATH-M series
- Sennheiser HD PRO series
- Sony MDR series

if money isn't an issue
- AKG
- ultrasone
- shure
- starx

I'm a Logic and Pro Tools user. Don't think Eugene or Roland are in the same circles as me.

I've tried the JH16's. They're nice, but not worth the money to me.

I'm sure they're nice. But earphones are really just tools for me. So I'm not really into them. As long as they do the job I ask of them, I'm ok with it.

If I really need to listen to something very critically, I'd simply go into my studio to do so. The applications of earphones are never as critical as monitor speakers. It's mostly deciding where my guitar tone knob or amp/pedal settings would be during a live show.

I don't know about them myself but I know customs are fitted to one's ears, providing maximum comfort and isolation.

I prefer headphones myself and now am a proud owner of Paradox by LFF. Wonder if chickenbackside would give it a try.

Though the best imitation to real life music would be in a sound room with a proper sound monitor setup. I drowned myself once in Shelby Lynn's voice in my dad's ex-boss's studio.

It was breath-taking.

Actually I find that generic fit earphones can be very comfortable too. You just have to be lucky to find the right brand/sleeves.

But isolation wise, there's no comparison, especially when you're moving around.

Yes, nothing like great speakers in a great room...
