There has been relatively a lot of focus on these replica items.

Many of us are missing the point of the genuine watch collectors. ‎It is just a matter of decorum on the forum, not an issue of egos.*

‎Anyone who is comfortable wearing/buying a replica - great. No judgement on the person whatsoever.*

At the same time, maybe the moderators do not feel a sense to be draconian about forum rules and neither have forum contributors insisted on starting another thread specific to replicas.*

‎Our plea (mine at least, I do not speak on behalf of anyone) is to kindly take the replica stuff away from this watch thread. There is so much bandwidth and space for us all to start other threads, why clutter here?*

Anyone wears a watch for different reasons. We are not here to discuss morality issues - just respecting the purpose of this thread. Discussing / showing replicas, isn't that going rather off topic? ‎

Let's get back to the watches please. ‎

hmm, well if this post is directed towards me, I have deleted all posts and pics pertaining to replica watches in this thread, due to the outcry in responses.

so, all you hardcore watchfans, what do you think of this? Pam case with Hublot hour markers and LW hands? :o

citizen signature grand! :)

nice, very strong features. its a cushion case - not just Pam... its one of the very early design for sporty strong cases. and the hour markers harken to a time where lume wasn't around and there was a need to reflect maximium light. except that this here is some extreme application.

i like this design, impressed that citizen is taking a step up, looking forward to their next citizen grand signature which i might just buy:

exactly what i mean. i told him to get out of the way of reps here and find somewhere else to share.

Just in-case, frankenwatches isn't a forum that i point him to (i did not list any forums out btw). it's term for people to mod their watches. It has been discussed in WUS forums too.

What The Heck Is A "Franken" Watch?

btw i feel there's nothing wrong to safeguard and protect myself by having the knowledge of reps out there.
I mean sharing the knowledge of replicas can be good to this thread, it's useful information to learn how to differentiate between the real deal and the knock off.
this is a forum to learn and share information, no?

Not that i condone that buying reps is right. but it's his money. who cares. i know i don't lol

lol maybe i should ignore too. talk too much, now i also kena :s8:

just chill out.

why so serious? haha :)

i think all of us who've been on watch forums know that once you start discussing replicas there is only one way the thread will go - downhill !

and its easy to get personal and ugly on the internet because you can't judge tone, but also because the issues are complex and layered: intertwining and layering legality, personal values, social norms, philosophical/ethical concerns...impossible to discuss in a forum format, just complicates discussions, eventually perceptions of personal attacks run high.

so what appears to be hardline avoidance of the topic is to prevent all that from happening, and to keep the thread alive!

add pic of amazing watch that can stand and balance on its own:
Panerai_Luminor_3Day_front_560.jpg

not much new, read very much like a review of the pam range but very clearly honestly done. these parts caught my eye :) -
......Careful scrutiny uncovered a few specks of dust on the hands, which were stamped from rather thin stock, which causes them to bend toward the polished eyelet at the center of the dial. There’s also an obvious break in the satin finishing above the lugs, which accept the crosspiece that holds the strap......

......Our rate test revealed that Panerai has done a good job of finely adjusting the movement. Though it gained eight seconds on the wrist, its average gain on the timing machine was a mere 3.7 seconds. The greatest deviation among the various positions (five seconds) is quite respectable, too. The amplitude remained high in all positions.......

which is something that all Pam owners know already but don't fuss about.

i do suspect its easier to make small light movements that are more accurate and movements with a lot of mass. where material deviations, higher sprung/unsprung weight differences may affect things more greatly. and that the whole swiss watch industry was geared to wards reducing mass to improve accuracy, not miniaturization for the sake of it.

Apologetic? Deleted? I doubt.

I'm going to say it straight in your face.

To the low life monkey who is posting illegal fakes here, get the f*ck out of here and get a life. U r not welcome here.

No one here will agree to your love for products that clearly steal intellectual properties.

Have a great Wednesday everyone. Sorry for the outburst, just had to get it out of the system.
