That's the thing.

Sometimes as a watch lover, it's somewhat frustrating. That is, the brand ***** in us will rear its ugly head.

I almost bought the the GO power reserve more than once. It's a great watch at a very reasonable price. But there's always the nagging at the back of my head saying it's a ALS wannabe.

So might as well save for the ALS.

Still saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving, saving...

I don't have to save for an ALS. At this stage of my life, I don't see myself spending so much on a watch! :p

With repeater somemore :s22::s22::s22:
200k+

Not exactly a minute repeater. Bit half boiled.... Zeitwerk is a love hate thingy, but up to today I do think the Datograph is THE essential ALS... When Philippe Dufour actually buys it with his own money, it says a lot

Hate it when this is the watch as my screen on my phone,.... True blue minute repeater

Thanks all for your replies.. yup, I was thinking dress watch too, but I'm not as cultured as most bros here so I dont really wear formal a lot, hehe... so still 50/50 on whether to get a dressy watch.

budget is 3-5k..

el primero seems a little too big for my puny 6" wrists... I have a colleague who wears it and it seems huge even on his larger wrist.

JLC reverso is nice...but not so keen on square face...moonphase seems nice too, what's the price range like?

if dress watch, leather strap is ok..but if sports watch, must be in bracelet for my preference...

FC moonphase, a cheaper alternative to JLC.

Here's an old pic.

If you say you dont wear dress much, dont get dress watch.

3-5k broaden your Swiss stable with some Japanese and German.

Anyone knows how much Tudor black bay is going for in Singapore?

Currently now in Europe, is it worth to buy watches in uk with the vat refund?

there are many other brands/genres to suggest especially if you don't know what you want. suggest you keep an open mind and go through pic based watch sales sites like this:

Watches for sale - Lionseek

who knows you might prefer a less popular brand / off beat design, beyond the usual recommendations by us locals.

You can dress down a dress watch but you can't dress up a sporty looking watch. It's good to have some variety in your collection. Perhaps the term "dress watch" gives people the idea of a small size leather strap watch that frightens some off so let's put it this way, it's good to have a smart looking watch aka "smart watch" in your collection.

Something like the tissot visodate, smart yet can be dressed up or down. These usually have more curves and are softer and more gentle in their design cues. Unless you are super opposed to leather straps, 1-2 leather strapped varieties will spice up your collection and versatility.

My suggestion is get something like the Orient bambino first. It's smart enough for suits and casual enough for T-shirts and shorts and it's only $200. Better than blowing a few Ks on a watch only to find out you really don't like it or looks too similar to what you already have.

Either 10watches or yobokies. Search the thread or google.
