Aiya, not arty farty lah. It's actually very plain. As for guitars, yes, they're peppered all over the house. Can't help it. Kids always wanting me to play for them.

My watches are really nothing to shout about either.

At least you are more comfortable with your watch than people. Always rocking that snzh mod.

He quoted $240 for the rubber strap, while the steel bracelets have to add $25 more.

Ya but the quick strap change will chui if you change often but it's the easiest way. Mine is screw one. Haha

Yup.. That's true. Luckily for me.. I really love my python strap.. So I'll probably use until cui ttm then change. Haha!

Yea, screw one is definitely more reliable I reckon.. Except you'd have to contend with the scratches.. lol.

Woah really good price! Should go for it haha. Somehow I didn't do my research and went straight to skywatches to hoot one. About $330+ for the skx007j bracelet model. :(

Guys.. I've been bitten by the seiko bug alr.. Intend to get one for my swimming and gym usage. May I ask, which are the models that are the most mod friendly?

Being an automatic is definitely one of the requirements though..

Thanks!

Well done on ignoring post that is being directed to you

In all seriousness, short of reporting to the mod (if what he is doing is indeed an infringement of ToS), there's nothing we can or should do. This is the nature of the internet.

He is free to post and we are free to ignore n deprive him of the attention he craves.

Awesome man. Which model are you looking at? :D

Anyway, if you do go for one with a 1950's case.. there is nothing to worry about because you can use toothpicks to change your straps!

No worries about scratching the case at all yea? Haha!

Haha going strong huh! Haha. Even if it pops, can use spring bar.

I genuinely feel that the quick change mechanism is a step in the right direction:

Advantages:

1. Quick & easy to change straps, using Panerai tool/toothpicks, etc.

2. Minimises/prevents scratches on the lug ends

3. Stops screw-in pins from "unscrewing" themselves through prolonged use, for those Pams that are still on the traditional screw in pins.

Disadvantage: Possible hardware failure that will require a new casing.

It is not a fact that repeated strap changes WILL cause the quick change mechanism to fail.

But for those Pams that have the screw in pins, you can change to spring bars for the ease of changing of straps. But of course, those spring bars may fail too. I had 1 set that was bent out of shape. Also noticed that my 512 has spring bars as standard!
