got consider the tempest commodore? saw the review on worn and wound and it looks pretty good.

was a toss up between the two and considering this colour varation (edit: not so clear in this pic but its dark green)

and in the end the biggest difference to me was actually quite petty: i was put off by the font used on the word "Commodore" in the dial. it looked like something that came off my work word file e.g times roman + bold + italics ... like this Commodore...but i stress it is a minor point, the quality of the watch e.g. sandwich dial, sapphire bezel and price etc... its another microbrand that challenges the mainstream brands on the concept of "swiss quality" that charges 5 times its price.

have a feeling that i'll pick this one up from the buy & sell in the future though, as I'm starting to have an itch for a green dial.

here's a comparison shot with the other micros and a few reference divers. although its pretty hefty at 43.5mm the rounded edges and lack of hard cues makes it "wear smaller" than it is.

how can you tell he has high eq/iq. what do you look out for?


I'm hoping to be a good judge of a person as well.

Can tell easily. How fast person grasp things and generally from grades you can tell IQ. Person who offends everyone has poor EQ, in my 10 years plus in my current organisation they stand out in my memory, I'd say about 10 or so only. Person with high EQ picks up body language and other subtle hints better than others and is able to deal with them better, doesn't mean he is a man-pleaser.

Inflating price before discount is disgusting. Their sales for attitude problem. I almost purchased a Tag chronograph with white dial, a calibre 16 model from the Dickson sale last night. But discovered that the tachometer bezel was scuffed and had a small ding. Sales guy keep saying it's not a scuff/ding it is the plastic wrap causing it...until I had to peel it off and show him...then he told me "what do you expect? It's 50% off! Very good discount..you buy used watch also got damage.."

I wanted so much to shove the watch down his throat then...3k plus after discount is not money meh?

I was at tha sale today. The tag heuer watches are quite tempting, especially thr monaco.

Saw the gulf monaco calibre 16 and some calibre 11 which are about 1k more.

I tried them but realised they fit too thick and big on my puny wrist. Otherwise i would grab one.

Any specific payment modes, eg cash only?

I previously had such an experience with them. Their watches seem to be marked up from normal retail prices. It was also unpleasant for me.

The Monaco prices might be marked up? At least the Gulf edition is...and check very carefully for damage plus ask clearly if it comes with the box, warranty cards and manual before u pay as some of them do not. Goods sold are sold as is and not refundable or exchangeable.

No aquaracers, only saw monaco, Grand carerra, carerra and limited F1 at the Dickson sale.
All Watches also have limited Tag link models at 40% off and Davosa at 50% and very few BM at 70% I think
