Still no sign of the elusive Nomos Metro :(

How about this advice. Keep your money in your bank. Buy the Rolex only when you don't need the money on short notice.

Rolex is not going to go out of business. You can always get one later when your financial situation improves.

But if you still insist, then you can't go wrong with a pre-owned piece.

On the other hand, if your heart is already set on it, it may makes sense to buy now (provided it does not burn too huge a hole in you pocket) for the following reasons:

1. The price will ALWAYS go up, sometimes by a wide margin when a brand is able to keep enhancing its brand premium (the introduction of the Rolex Day-Date 40 is a good eg)

2. You get to enjoy the watch for longer if you buy earlier.

Just saying...

That is very true.. But if he wanna buy it BNIB, maybe can consider paying via instalment lor.. Since the price will always increase, he can lock in the price now.. + $x per month is going to be smaller in value...

Ok, I shouldn't poison anybody any further..
